For serious. After all the bull-ish he pulled against the Knicks, how the hell would anyone suggest they want him here?

I have a feeling Lebron will opt out and sign with the 76ers. Lakers shed $50M, get under the luxury tax and, trade Anthony Davis to a center hungry team. LeBron probably feels teaming with Embiid/Maxey in the East is better for career longevity and a path to the Finals.

Can we be the center hungry team

Here's a bit of an "extreme" idea...

3-way trade where we send out Mitch, Bogs, McBride, Precious (S&T) and pick(s) and we get Jerami Grant and Brogdon in return. An under the cap 3rd team comes in to take Mitch and maybe Precious (Magic or Hornets?) and Portland nets picks from us and the 3rd team, basically, to continue their rebuild.

We then have a 3 guard rotation of DDV/Brunson/Brogdon (as the 6th man) and then we have a "small ball" bench with Grant getting the bulk of back-up 4-5 minutes... It's where the modern NBA is going... Grant's 7'3 wingspan and 40%+ 3pt shooting can help. We'd just have to go away from the idea of having two lumbering bigs on the roster and go 5-out sometimes.

iHart
Randle / Grant
OG / Hart
DDV / Brogdon
Brunson

That team is Boston deep...

He'll likely stay in LA for another 1-2 seasons... but there's a real chance PHX drafts Bronny then trades Beal and a future pick for Lebron... as crazy as that sounds. You know Lebron and KD have probably already talked about it and LAL and PHX were the only two teams Bronny worked out for... where there's smoke...

Randle+Mitch for AD works salary wise. Tough to make it work without including Randle... something to think about.

There's definitely smoke... but Bradley Beal's contract is tough and PHX likely doesn't have draft capital the Lakers need. It's the kind of move we're accustomed to the Lakers fleecing others on but reversed. Shedding Lebron's $50M and getting under the tax might be the better option.

I'd do it too but having AD and OG on the same roster is... risky! (health wise)

It's going to be hard for us to win with the centers we have though, if they plan on keeping Randle they cannot continue to put rim runners next to him, it's so stupid at this point. Trade Mitch and actually draft someone that profiles as a stretch 5. The era of the rim runner is completely over, the only way I can any team winning with one of them is if they're under $10 million per year. As much as I like IHart, his lack of a shot is also going to be a hinderance to winning a chip.

it would be a lot harder to win with KAT playing C for us than those 2. he is a dummy, can't be counted on in the playoffs, limits roster construction on that deal, and isn't a good defender.

as for our centers, they both are nice yet limited. iHart is the better offensive player and if we're interested in upgrading with a stretch 5 he can go, because mitch is the better defender of the two.

They're at a fork in the road, if they plan of keeping Randle then the best way to maximize his talent is to put a stretch 5 next to him. If they're going another direction then maybe you keep the rim runners, but even then it's an antiquated role with a ceiling on what you can achieve in a league where the elite centers do multiple things. The threat of shooting from a C is a true weapon, the Pacers played the Celtics better than anyone so far because Turner has to be respected outside.

Mitch is injured entirely too much, he's missed more games since 2020 than Kristaps and Embiid, that is untenable whether you like him or not. He is unreliable and doesn't reach their high points.

Embiid
224 games

Kristaps
216

Mitch
193

I agree with what Cap said. I'm for upgrading the C position. Adding Kp last year would have done that even though he is also injured a lot, I hold grudges, and he has a weird case.

I think the best likely case to do this is how you mentioned - through the draft. Also this would help manage the cap situation. But until then you get to watch him dominate on defense and the glass while clogging up the lane on the offensive end.

I’d be totally fine running it back with an addition like Caruso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Front Office would rather target Bruce Brown or Kellly Oubre for free than Caruso for 2 or most likely 3 picks.

1/ mitch playing less games than embiid and KP is not something a lot of ppl will know about. when I first noticed this, someone said 25 games isn't a lot.

hello?

25 games is basically 30% of an entire season. you dont think 30% of 1 season is a lot more games played?

2/

ihart can shoot threes

its time to unleash the

Boston offense of iso 5-out.

AD theoretically is a perfect fit for the THibodeau system. He gives us the semi stretch 4/5 we sorely need.

AD has never been a good 3 point shooter and hasn't had a good mid-range game in years

Can't wait. Off season toxicity the best.
