I had NOP as Edey's floor, so if they're looking to move out he might have a higher promise by now.

Portland, LAL, Miami, Utah and Toronto are his other workout teams.

Miami and especially LAL would be amazing destinations for him.

I think he ends up with the Lakers unless we trade up using Brown.

I get that Bam can cover for much of his defensive liabilities but I don't think they'd get the best use out of him offensively. AD can likewise cover for him defensively (even more so), allows AD not to get beat up physically and makes for a dead easy target for LeBron...not to mention the added "circus"/attention it brings to LA and of course they know they need size to get through DEN or MIN.

Should've been that way the whole time...personally I like him more than Walter.

I think OKC or SAC could be great landing spots as an elite 6th man, although I believe he can be a very good starter. Although personally I'd favour Ware for either team more.

This is the best time of year for teams with 0 chance to win a championship. I live for the rumours at this stage.

Offseason provides a false sense that all the holes will be plugged and everyone will have career years next season lol.

It's a flat draft. this year especially these mocks will be all the map vs actuality. I know its not a top heavy draft but the uncertainty of it should be fun on draft night

2025? That is another story

Even that is not happening until the trade deadline... and by then we they would need to have a viable replacement on the roster (Kelly ain't it). This team has too much evidence that it can't even tread water without a starting-calibre centre.

And as much as people (RIGHTFULLY) complain about the timing of the Poeltl move, the acquisition cost of a starting-calibre centre is unlikely to change that much.

So unless they are drafting a C in the current 2024 draft that is going to be ready to take over in 2025, they are not going to be sending out their only starting-calibre centre next year... especially for a package that is very unlikely to include a first-round pick in a loaded 2025 draft.

Only scenario I could see them shipping out Poeltl is if they draft Edey/Ware/Missi at 19 and after a year in the league, they are ready for starter minutes. I'm not holding my breath for that.

Poeltl is here until he is expiring. That's my prediction :banghead:

Mine too. It was the hail mary Paskal retention stragedy. But even if that failed he is still an excellent starter. What we should be ticked about is throwing Precious into the Knicks trade. But hey needing blame needs no introduction around here.

Precious was done in Toronto the moment Darko was hired. The guy can't exist in Darko's system. They had probably made the determination that they weren't going to bring him back, so they let the guy try and earn himself a contract somewhere else.

FWIW, Precious and IQ have the same agent.

Johnny Furphy is an intriguing fit for the Raptors as well. An off ball specialist who is legit 6’8? His stats after his arrival in the starting lineup are eye opening for a freshman- still 38% from 3.

More shooting is always welcome. I think he goes before 19, but if he’s on the board it makes the pick tough.

Dunn, at 6 foot 8, might be the single best defensive player in the draft. He can play NBA minutes right away defensively. He can guard most NBA positions and he has a combination of being a rim protector along with being a playmaker defensively on the perimeter.

So, what’s Dunn’s issue? As good as he is defensively, that’s about as non-impactful as he was offensively in college.

According to league sources, Dunn worked out for the Jazz this week and went primarily against Purdue star big man Zach Edey. In assessing Dunn, the Jazz will have to project whether he can play offense at an NBA level and whether he can shoot at an NBA level. If they want to draft him, where do they draft him? If they take him at 10, it’s going to be too high, on paper. That being said, he doesn’t project to be available at picks No. 29 or No. 32.

There are several players who the Jazz have to evaluate, which is one of the reasons they are casting a wide net in terms of draft workouts. League sources say Edey, Salaun and Tyler Kolek, among others, visited Utah this week. But there are a lot of players in this draft who are like Dunn, in terms of having one skill that stands out, but having to project the rest of their skill sets is what will make this draft unpredictable and fascinating.
