You really let such little things bother you lol.
Are you a boomer?

I have no idea what a boomer is.

Also my sarcasm is pretty bad I guess.

Laugh a little don't take everything seriously. :D

I don't see saying stupid **** about Melo as funny, but maybe that's just me.

You just hate me and that's fine. You only come around when it's something negative I say about Melo.

You never reply when I say something positive. There is a narrative on this board that I'm a Melo hater. I will have to accept that. I'm one of the few who will defend Melo on the GB. But nobody wants to point that out.

Feel free to formulate whatever opinion you want about me, but I don't hate you and I call out things that I view as out of line because I view that to be my responsibility. Trolling is off limits on here for you and others and yes you should expect that I will call posters out when they do it.

I feel like you are subtle about trading LaMelo.. and if he comes back and balls out you can still say.. oh yeah I was joking about trading him. I love him.

But... if he gets hurt again etc... you can lean into the see I told you we should have traded him camp.

I am just firmly in the LaMelo is 22 yrs old, most guys in the NBA don't start winning for real until 24-27 yrs old so I just am a bit more patient especially considering it's not like we have been littered with guys more talented them him since I started following the team.

We know what LaMelo can do when healthy. He was eye poppingly dominant in his final stretch of games in November before he got hurt.

For that reason, I'm willing to roll the dice another year and hope he can show he's capable of playing 70+ games.

His track record of staying healthy is terrible though so if he has yet another season where he misses months on end, the FO needs to take a serious look at it's options

If Melo gets injured again there will be no options lol

Who wants a supermax player who can't stay healthy?

If we don't trade him this off-season we are stuck with him moving forward. Just hope the kid can stay healthy. His talent has never been questioned. It's all about his health.

I wouldn't say this off-season (bc his value is at an all time low presently) but rather sometime in the middle of next year.

If he's playing like he was last November putting up 30/9/7 lines nightly then it's time for the FO to assess whether to sell high while he's healthy and playing well or stick with him and hope he can stay healthy moving forward.

If he can't and gets injured again, then they're going to have to wait until he's healthy (again) before they can once again explore trade options.

What scares me with his history so far is that he ends up with something serious like his brother. God forbid that happens, then he will be untradable

You guys do realize we're going to get next to nothing if we trade him right?

Then his ankles will get better and he will become a hall of famer.

Melo is worth more to us than anyone else. It might blow up in our face, but as LP points out we aren't getting a haul for him right now.

I'd much rather take a shot he stays healthy than trade him for a bunch of crappy protected 1sts or pick swaps that will likely never happen. The list of players who've worn a Hornets jersey with Melo's talent is really short. Right now we have two, him and Miller, so let's cross our fingers.

If we could get a Gobert-type haul for him maybe it would be a different story, but that's not happening.

Melo is here for most of his remaining contract unless one of the following occurs:

1. He returns and plays very well. Privately coaches and trainers have concerns (long term health, off-court concerns maybe, etc.) but some team goes bonkers in love with him and must have him, making us a massive offer too good to refuse.

2. He gets hurt again, maybe repeatedly, and the team decides to trade him for chump change.

Let’s hope he gets stronger, better, more focused and desiring true greatness.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Imagine deciding to trade him in the middle of a 30/9/7 season without him asking to be traded lmao

Our British Bulldog over at AllHornets SI has thrown out the idea of a mock trade, returning a solid player for our #6 pick. No idea if this would work, but review it and see what you think. A stronger starting lineup if it happened, as we get a sure starter verses an unknown in a weak draft. But is Hunter worth the extra $ verses someone like Castle if he’s available?

HORNETS RECEIVE:
- G DeAndre Hunter
- F AJ Griffin
HAWKS RECEIVE:
- Dāvis Bertāns
- Cody Martin
- 6th overall pick
WHY IT WORKS
The Hornets need to find a way to unload Bertans and this is one way to do it. Charlotte would love to have his shooting ability, but he's a one-trick pony that doesn't offer much of anything else. The Hawks would likely waive Bertans in this scenario, but they do get another crack at snagging a top player in this year's draft at No. 6 in addition to a really stout defender in Cody Martin to help the initial stages of the rebuild.
Charlotte gets an offensive upgrade in Hunter, who has averaged 14.3 points per game over his first five years in the NBA. He shoots 36% from three and is shooting the three-ball at a much higher volume than Martin who is at 31% for his career. As for Griffin, he's a former first-round pick that had a pretty strong rookie campaign averaging nearly nine points, two rebounds, and 15 minutes per game before falling out of Atlanta's rotation. There's still a lot of potential there and he's probably worth taking the chance on over any player that's going to be available at his position at No. 6.

Yes but if they ultimately want to draft Risarche #1 they could open the position for him, and still possibly get Clingan at 6.

Wasn’t Hunter rumored to be a possible trade piece prior to this year’s deadline?

alright, you're convincing me now. i guess Clingan will be their backup to Okongwu with his size

definitely intriguing as Hunter is very solid, whoever we draft we will likely only hope they can reach Hunter level

The Hawks might end up salary dumping Deandre Hunter ala John Collins. Legit that is how little interest there is in him at this point and you guys want to give up the 6th pick for him? lol

I'm with Jmac on this one. I'm not trading the #6 pick for Hunter.

I’m not advocating, as I question the price being too high for pick 6. But it’s hard to argue that Hunter wouldn’t be a better player than anyone we’d draft there.

Hunter has averaged 52 games per year over his 5 seasons. That is less games played per year than Gordon Hayward. I wouldn't take on his 21-25 mil per year salary unless someone gave me a top 5 pick.
