Hayes lives off of engagement farming. Has for damn near a decade.
He will be a contrarian to anything popular and people will flock to tell him he's wrong and give him clicks.
he's salty SAS made it out by doing so and he can't.

Anyone that blames our results from the past decade on Hinkie/The Process & not Colangelo and that awful management-by-committee is not worth taking seriously. We got screwed so badly by the NBA front office it still makes me angry every time I think about it.

they cant't blame them because they championed hiring him as they desperately wanted to "land the plane". All of those win now moves (even including the "good" ones like the Jimmy trade) were all done in service of that loud minority and outside pressure. Their lack of vision and impatience is exactly why we are in the situation we are in.

And yet they still win 50 games every season. Embiid is amazing.

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
Not going to ever say that we rushed the Butler trade, but everything after that slowly began to feel that way. The Tobias trade was unnecessary as was doubling down on him and paying him. The Horford signing was obviously awful as was PJ Tucker. The Ben situation was just unfortunate because there was a time when it looked like this was actually going to work for us. Ben was tailor made to beat teams like Golden State, Boston, Milwaukee, and Denver. Markelle Fultz was just a tragedy. The Mikel Bridges trade. The Embiid injuries have been deflating as well. Tyrese Maxey has been out life raft and that's been about it. It's been a rough "process." Despite all that, this team has shown resilience and potential being carried by Embiid.

The Knicks & Mavs had sexual harassment scandals in their front office and the league didn’t give a sh*t.
Hinkie is a little too honest about tanking (a practice that is as old as the lottery) and we get nuked from orbit.

Hinkie took over and traded him for two first-round picks, one of which was Nerlens Noel, and also drafted Carter-Williams; a wonderful haul.

Perfect. Nice work.
It's remarkable how many media people and politicians still don't get the fact that the internet is forever.

Factos. Hayes, Howard Eskin, Tony Bruno, etc. expose themselves with this "Scam Hinkie" narrative because if they genuinely cared for the fans who had to ENDURE 2013-2016 bottoming out, they would recognize the same fans now get to enjoy a team who wins over 50 games regularly and doesn't miss the Playoffs.
Isn't that what the pre-Process was all about? Making the 7 or 8 seed to get your doors blown off by Detroit, Orlando, or Miami from 2005-2012? Hell, the second round is a meme for us today, but during the Comcast Spectacor ownership days, the FO would cream their pants if we made the second round.

Yea, he's a nice 3rd or 4th guy on a team.
I think what's always missing from the Jrue Holiday Sixers timeline narrative is that the Sixers did him a favor by not having him stick around while Hinkie sunk the entire team into depths the league hasn't seen before. Hinkie knew Jrue was in a win now situation, just resigned to a sizable contract (at the time). Didn't make sense to have him suffer while we sucked for the next 3+ years.
It was also crucial to get rid off all talent to set us up for the lottery odds which landed us Joel in 2014. I know some posters here don't believe that Jrue would've hurt our 2014 spot however lol.
The dumbest part of MH's tweet is the "passed on Giannis, Porzingis, etc."
What say we go down all NBA draft results in history and assemble the superteams that "could've been" if every draft went exactly in order of eventual talent. Best part is Hinkie (basically) wasn't allowed to draft Kristaps in 2015, which you'd think a media member of a major sports town would know, unless he's just arguing in bad faith and ignoring facts.
Hinkie was also overridden by Jerry C about trading Okafor for the pick that became Jaylen Brown.

It’s going to be hilarious when the Celtics lose the next two games and Tatum inflates his numbers then wins Finals MVP.

Tatum was put in Luka(/Embiid)'s shoes for 1 game while up 3-0 and they're losing by 500.

It's pretty funny but really pathetic that Celtics fans have the need to come here to get quotes to make themselves feel whatever it is they are feeling. If I had a loaded team about to win a title, I can't fathom searching a forum for comments from a rival's fans to post on the GB, but perhaps it is some weird insecurity where they know this house of cards will come tumbling down and just pray to get this one.
Funniest thing was a couple of comments later suggesting that the '08 team should have been a 3-peat group. They clearly didn't learn that they were the original source of what was to become Glenn's post season M.O.

Given the age of Jrue and Horford, the fact that they will lose Derrick White next summer (or trade him this season so they can get something of a return), ... makes me think we shouldn't be scared that they are untouchable for many many seasonsmjkvol wrote:Kobblehead wrote:Can't wait for Tatum to win Finals MVP and it being the last straw that causes Jaylen Brown to demand a trade lol.
Haha. I completely expect Tatum to have a big scoring game 4 and win the MVP, when anyone who pays attention sees it is Brown making the big iso baskets and White and Holiday making the clutch plays. That whole house of cards will implode at some point next season, but at least Silver got them a ring.

I don’t go to the Celtics board in general, but I wouldn’t even think about them or their opinions if we were up 3-0, or 3-1 in the Finals lmao. That’s remarkably sad.

Celtics fans are second only to Raptors fans as the most pathetic & deranged group of whiners. Honestly, it’s sad to see so many posts & tweets about how the national media has an anti-Boston bias because it’s so disconnected from reality.

They know their team are frauds and know they didn't get to the Finals legitimately and if they "win" there will be an asterisk because they avoided their opponents best player for 3 straight rounds. So they're really insecure and need to see how other team's fans speak about their loser team for justification. People who are confident and proud of their teams don't need to see or care about what others say about their teams.

It’s gotta hurt extra bad for Celtics fans to have this cakewalk asterisk on their title because they’ve spent the last 5 years making fun of the “Mickey Mouse” ring the Lakers got.

The worst fans I've encountered in my life are Celtics and NY Giants fans - arrogant, delusional, seriously believe the leagues revolve around their teams, and that the rest of the country knows this. Giants fans are doubly bad because they are also usually Yankees fans. Their teams can be irrelevant for a decade and they still believe they are elite.
The trait they all share is counting championships like they are somehow notches on their belt. Having a discussion with any of them invariably leads to "how many you got?", which is why I haven't engaged any in conversation since escaping northern NJ.

I don’t know, the Sixers can’t even beat a good team in the second round, seems really weird to be putting asterisks next to anyone’s championships lol
always a jump shot away.
