The game was lost when both Jays immediately went out and played selfish, previous Celtics's teams' basketball, and not current Team Celtics basketball. They were both trying to cruise their way to a Finals MVP, thinking Dallas would just keel over. This ugly brand of basketball has to stop. They weren't even listening to Joe in timeouts, asking to move the ball and get back to our offense. Brown came out and immediately went ISO.

they completely abandoned all the things they did well to contain dallas' offense and make them a kyrie and luka show and shutting everyone else down. they got lobs, they got a ton of corner 3s, they got a ton of offensive rebounds. terrible, awful, absolutely embarrassing effort tonight

I guess it's fair to blame Joe if you think they weren't ready to play. Although that's not entirely on the coach.

But as an anti-Joe person, I don't really put this one on him.

History was certainly made tonight, but not the good kind.

All in all though, the goal was to split in Dallas and that was achieved. I’d rather take a loss like this than at the buzzer.

After the fist quarter and a half, where we knew the game was over, this is want I wanted. For us to get blown out instead of come back and lose a close or a buzzer beater.

You can't blame the coach when a team loses by 40. That's on the players. I've been one of the most consistent Mazzula doubters on there but this isn't on him. The players know what they need to do to win, but they didn't do it.

I felt like there was little effort from the coaching staff tonight. Not that I want to shout out the players either, just didn't feel like there was a game plan, nor in game adjustments.

Our guys made an effort to pass to the open teammate, just was little effort to get open or to exploit the Mavs' scheme. On defense, no rim protection, and in the first half I think Dereck Lively outrebounded our entire starting lineup.

And I don't really even care, wasn't a must win game, would be great to win the series at home. But PTSD: for five straight quarters, we have looked like last year's Celtics, and that team probably blows the 3-0 lead.

Tonight wouldn't have bothered me as much if our guys didn't already look so shook, and lost, towards the end of game 3.

I don't think anybody played particularly poorly, just nobody was able to get it going and keep it going, and Al was ineffective. Team loss.

This one is definitely not on Joe, but if we see more of the same in game 5 then that would mean Joe didn't even bother making any adjustments, and we all know Joe is stubborn like that.
