It's huge. We aren't playing a Heat team without Butler and Rozier. We aren't playing a Cavs team without Mitchell and Allen. We aren't playing a Pacers team without Hali. Dallas has a full, healthy squad. We one games 1 and 2 with KP. We won a close game 3 with Luka fouling out. Boston is beatable against good teams without KP. Especially when White and Jrue have off nights.

Keeping perspective.

This does leave a bad taste though, opportunity to win the chip and not even turning up, at points being down near 50.

For that, this surely is a special finals version AOS thread?

I'm sorry. How are the Celtics supposed to win that game tonight when they're not rebounding?

If they're not rebounding, what is the coach doing about that?

Joe being the reason this team might not win a championship is beginning to rear it's ugly head. I know I'm overreacting, but Joe has me more concerned on top of the team showing they didn't care.

We were absolutely getting killed inside and rebounding.. Does joe insert Al and X at the same time, no.. Joe actually went smaller with PP and Tatum at center..

Joe is. Clueless..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Coaches don't win games. They lose them.

His lineups tonight were atrocious.

If you don't keep guys in front of you, you end up in rotation, ergo - offensive rebounds.

If you don't get to loose balls when you're not in rotation - your coach can't help you.

The rebounding issues are on the players.

threrf23 wrote:I felt like there was little effort from the coaching staff tonight. Not that I want to shout out the players either, just didn't feel like there was a game plan, nor in game adjustments.

Our guys made an effort to pass to the open teammate, just was little effort to get open or to exploit the Mavs' scheme. On defense, no rim protection, and in the first half I think Dereck Lively outrebounded our entire starting lineup.

And I don't really even care, wasn't a must win game, would be great to win the series at home. But PTSD: for five straight quarters, we have looked like last year's Celtics, and that team probably blows the 3-0 lead.

Tonight wouldn't have bothered me as much if our guys didn't already look so shook, and lost, towards the end of game 3.

I don't think anybody played particularly poorly, just nobody was able to get it going and keep it going, and Al was ineffective. Team loss.

The staff were completely perplexed by Kidd throwing Lively out there shortly after the game started. Coaches couldn't do anything to counter it.

What is up with DWhite though? He looked shook out there. How many airballs did he shoot tonight?

We played bad, they played good. They mad a ton of 3’s. Lively and exum made two 3’s early. Bounce of the ball went their way as well. We missed a ton of layups. Jrue wasn’t in the right mind. Passing off point blank shots early on, and losing the ball, missing layups. Luka and Kyrie got tons of easy jumpers inside. We were out hustled on rebounds as well. Game 5 is a must win. We don’t want to be a part of the wrong side of history.

Rebounding is effort. What are you talking about? Boston players played like they didnt gaf. Pulling up long 3s early in the shot clock, going 1 on 3 or 4. They literally sat there and watched grab an offensive board when he’s the smallest guy on the floor

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

They couldn’t keep the ball in front. They looked like 5 Luka Doncic’s in the perimeter

Pretty glad they held on in Game 3, or we could be in some pretty deep **** right now.

An all-time collapse followed by a historic blowout? Hoooowheeeee, am I glad we aren't dealing with that right now.

Celtics are missing too many open shots. That's the problem.

Yeah I don’t know what’s going on with him with some of these bricks. Also what happened to him driving in? He was pretty good getting to the basket and raising up 5 feet away from the hoop but now he’s chucking threes out there with zero ball movement and those are the ones he’s bricking
