I think the Knicks are banking on being healthy and probably have spoken to Thibs about minute distribution (they really didn't, but they should). My gut tells me that we'll resign iHart, OG and maybe Precious. Also think we'll get Lowry (Villanova) and Oubre. Probably lose Bojan

Add a rookie or two to the G-League development cycle and all you said makes a lot of sense to me too. It’s not flashy but it fixes a lot of holes and avoids the 2nd apron.

All we need then is luck with health and on paper I like our odds against anyone and I mean anyone. Knicks got some legit pieces, chemistry is there, talent is there, they can play both sides of the ball. If you look at other franchises these are the signs that usually indicate a team can make that leap to a championship.

Can Tyus Jones be gotten in a sign and trade? I think Washington's pick is more valuable to them than to the Knicks or any other team, since it won't convey and probably converts to a 2nd rounder, but if they got it back, would help some in a Stepian situation way.

And, if the Knicks were at the cap but Washington was under, could the Knicks trade Bogs and the Washington 1st for Tyus, then use the dollar differential between Bogs salary and Tyus Jones and sign Oubre.

Tyus Jones and Oubre would be decent bench depth if the Knicks resign both OG and iShart.

I don’t know the in’s and outs of Washington’s cap, but I do know Tyus is probably the second best PG free agent behind IQ and unlike IQ where Toronto is probably going to match any deal he gets, Tyus is gettable. Plus unlike the center position in this year’s draft, where there are some really good center prospects, there aren’t any great PG’s prospects who look like they can come in and start day one. I say that to say this, I can see Orlando or the Spurs all making him legit offers above the MLE.

I think the Knicks with Mcbride (maybe Rokas) are good at backup PG.

How do we all feel about Jordan Clarkson for Bogs and this year's pick and Detroit's future first?

No one currently averaging 36 minutes a game is going to come here to play 15 minutes a game.

KNICKS are looking for a "star" -- but, we're in an era where the "stars" we know are aging out of the league and new stars are developing.

Interestingly, the "star" we're looking for may already be on the team. They may just need another season or 2 for the league to take notice of them as legit. Brunson is clearly star-caliber.

If Giannis, Booker, KD, etc. asks out, we should clearly jump on it. However, if no existing "star" becomes available, we need to run it back with a few tweaks that may not be names but would be a good fit.

How about trading our two picks to move up in the draft and just select one player?

It could happen. Especially if we pair it with some future seconds or first with protections.

How far could we realistically expect to move up, and how likely is it someone we draft could help us win now as opposed to a few years down the road?

Edey also would be fairly NBA ready. His physique is already grown up.

The player that fits Thibodeau's Chicago roster template and could be the reason they decide to let Hartenstein leave is: Oso Ighodaro

Barring a trade for a star this summer, it wouldn't be the worst thing to run it back with minor tweaks then make a deadline move. Hoping for good health of course

on hard drugs if you think thibs is trusting a rookie who’s not even a top prospect to step right in and do that role

Thibs is never going to trust a rookie in the playoffs. None of these rookie centers will be able to play without getting into quick foul trouble.

This seems to be the most likely outcome of this off season.

Return to New York Knicks
