IQ is a really crappy measure of intelligence in my opinion.
Yeah for years and years I bragged about having a really high IQ and then I did a 25 page essay on it while in university and it’s largely bull. If anything it’s a rough measure of cognitive processing power (which in itself is hard to measure) compared against similar peers (age, demographics, etc.). And then when you start to look at social and environmental factors that can impact cognitive processing in the short and long term, it’s generally a pretty meaningless measure.
What matters more than folks would like to admit is environment, nurturing, luck, etc.
I have to ask, what was your IQ score?
I received a very high score, they re-tested me and I scored in the same range. I have ADHD and was never good at applying myself as a young man, but I would acknowledge that I'm 'smart', in the general sense.
