Its all genetics, usually the taller you get the more likely that your body is out of proportion in all different areas, but Edey for whatever reasons seems rather proportionally accurate just very tall. He also has a very strong frame and very solid legs to hold his mass. He doesn't run like one leg is bigger or like his hips are to small for his size, Most of the videos of him shirtless shows a pretty significant amount of muscle as well, he is rather healthy specimen. The fact that his game doesn't require him to be overly hyper active above the rim, since he simply just extends his arms and dunks will make for a long career.

Pat Riley falls in love with players like this. Don’t be shocked if his name is called at 15 and a lot of folks in our fanbase heads explode lol. We always have an eye on Marquette players. We worked out Olivier Maxence Prosper last year. Kolek has that dog Heat identity. Also a lefty like Dragic and a pure PG.

Has us selecting Tyler Kolek. Would be the ultimate Heat pick that everyone gets all pissed off about then you realize how good a player he actually is. Near 40% 3 point shooter and 85% from the line. He probably killed his workout here.

How many sub 6'2 players over the age of 23 when drafted are successful in the NBA? TJ McConnell seems to be Kolek's upside projection--a career 7 ppg and 5 apg guy. I don't think Kolek is the defender that TJ is.

Kolek would be a nice 2nd round pick and an absurd first round pick if any upside players are available.

Fortunately, Kevin O'Connor doesn't appear to know sh*t

I have very little regard for KOC's draft opinion when it comes to the Heat (he's usually all over the place), but Kolek isn't a terrible choice. He's a pure pg and tenacious competitor, but what you see is what you get. He doesn't have any star upside, but I see him being our very own TJ McConnell.

It's a pretty shallow reason for drafting someone, but I like the idea of the heat drafting noninjury prone player for once lol. Especially since he'd likely be playing less minutes than he did in college.

I think just based on past, our most injury riddled draft picks have been Herro#1 Winslow#2 Wade#3(Wade already had meniscus issue since college), all our other picks have been pretty healthy.

Jovic seems to pick up several nagging injuries, and Jaime has had some time out too. But I'm just nitpicking at that point.

Draft Collier and Edey. A combined FT attempt rate of 1.3. Get to the line as much as possible. Advantage-Heat.

Best post of year TBH

Difference makers, that what we need. 2 of them.

Bigs : Ware / Edey

Wings : Hollland

Guards : Carlton Carrington / Collier / Carter (Topic won't get to 15)

No one else.

And i'd move Herro to get a second pick.

Free throws will help us avoid some of those offensive lulls. Edey generates a ridiculous amount of free throw attempts. Id like to see how his FTA rate matches up to other collegians over the past decade or two.

Colliers head down, bull rush gets him to the line a lot for a guard.

Ultimately, we go from having zero rim pressure to having a lot, at high efficiency. Could be a game changer.
