This draft features a lot of "older" players who stayed in school and improved their draft stock.

Dalton Knecht
Devin Carter
Zac Edey (Did his draft position improve?)
Tyler Kolek
DaRon Holmes II
Jaylon Tyson
Baylor Scheireman
Kevin McCullar
Dillon Jones
PJ Hall
Terrance Shannon Jr.
Tristan Newton
Antonio Reeves
Enrique Freeman
Jamal Shead

Oops. Yeah, to me 8 is too high for Dillingham but alongside Wemby, hmmm. They could take Castle at 4. That would be an interesting backcourt.

But yeah, guessing what the Spurs are going to do... good luck.
I think dillingham might end up as the 4th-7th best player in the draft so if you think he fits **** it take him at 4 if you like him.

Can't disagree with that logic. If you think he is the BPA at your slot you take him. For me, I don't think he will be in that range. Then again, playing under Pop with Wemby :dontknow:

I'll be in Mexico City both evenings. I'm sure the draft will be televised there....

Idk if you’ve ever been, but you will probably be able to find round 1 at least without too much research. One of my absolute favorite cities in the world. One of the few places I’d gladly leave DC for (at least for a few years).

I've been to Mexico several times but never to Mexico City.

We're going for a wedding in Valle de Bravo, a beautiful town in the mountains a couple of hours west of MC. We'll be there a few days & then to Mexico City for a week. Definitely looking forward to it.

Happy to give you some suggestions if you need any. I just got back a few months ago

Every one of them is a PF/SF.

If he's drafted, where and when does Zac play?

It doesn't matter, we're not playing to win until '26-'27 at the earliest, the objective now is to maximize our chances of landing the best talent available, regardless of position, it's not like anyone is a transformative superstar, #1, the team won 15 games last year, if we had transformative anything we would have won more. If we can land an elite or high end talent that plays the same position, so be it, Kuzma is out the door in the next 18 months, Deni may be out the door in the next two. There's no such thing as a position that's not a need on a 15 win team w/o any stars.

man PIF aint going to no stripclub. I mean for the dancers' sake. He gets a private dance and spends the entire time telling the girl about how he used to be a poet, how he was Steve Jobs' baby sitter when he was younger, the benefits of trading back, I mean think about the women here fellas

So looks like Dadiet and Almansa withdrew from the draft. :nonono:

List I just saw says Dadiet is in but Almansa withdrew

Edited to add: of course the list is from a Reddit post …
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Yeah, sorry, I think you're right, Dadiet stayed in.

Another player I liked in the 2nd round Zaccharie Perrin withdrew also.

Feels like this draft is more about who fits the ideal archetype and who has the highest floor instead of finding the player with the most upside or highest ceiling.

It's always interesting to observe the ways the young think of the old. &, no problem, you should continue to enjoy yourself!

OTOH, keep in mind that I'm a product of the 1960s. You might imagine that I've had more than my share of experiences in pretty much every arena of life. :)

Seems like all teams seeded 1-10 are seeking ready -now contributors on the cheap rather than development projects, this would also include Memphis who expect to be back to relevancy next season, all the rest are a hope and a prayer of hitting on some talent..

It is admittedly not consensus at all, but I think my draft board is shaping up to be something like:

1. Reed Sheppard
2. Ron Holland
3. Devin Carter
4. Zaccharie Risacher
5. Alex Sarr
6. Jared McCain
7. Cody Williams
8. Matas Buzelis
9. Donovan Clingan
10. Stephon Castle
11. Zach Edey
12. Rob Dillingham
13. Dalton Knecht
14. Kel'el Ware

Really weird draft. I don't think I'd really bang the table for any of these guys but I'm obviously higher on some of these guys than the consensus.

Interesting. And vs. another consensus mock.

Zaccharie Risacher
Alexandre Sarr
Reed Sheppard
Cody Williams
Stephon Castle
Matas Buzelis
Dalton Knecht
Donovan Clingan
Ronald Holland
Tidjane Salaun
Ja'Kobe Walter
Carlton Carrington
Nikola Topic
Rob Dillingham

Don't think SA takes Williams at #4 so there is that... I could see them taking Castle though.

According to hoops hype we are the only team to have had a known work out with Sarr so far. Is DC his preferred destination? Maybe he likes the idea of joining a blank slate team instead of going to a more win now, structured environment

His camp reportedly wants Sarr to be the #1 option. He wouldn't be that on the Hawks or Rockets or Spurs. Makes sense for Wiz to be favoured.

It's strategic, his agent/team is under the impression he won't slip past 2 so it's pointless to work out for other teams picking in the top 5.
