Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
as always we should overreact to finals out comes
BUT to be semi serious here.
I don't think the heliocentric iso heavy style in which one or two guys do all of the creation is a great way to build a team. Luka, who may be hurt or fat or whatever, is probably one of the best at it but expecting one guy to solo teams or even duo teams is a big ask...especially when going against deep teams capable of keeping up or even staying ahead. You end up trading tough shots for their easy shots and then you can't miss ever as their easy shots get easier. Felt like that was our issue most of the year, Biid's scoring binges often came in close games instead of big blowouts (not always) because we'd be trading tough grifty 2 for fastbreaks and big 3 point outings from the other team.
If you overreact and take anything from Boston's gameplan is creating a system in which your best players don't have to ALWAYS be all world scoring to hold serve, so ideally when they are, the other team can't keep up. Easier said than done since we have no **** assets and even if we did, we don't seem to get bargains like Jrue, White and KP but still i'd like to go into next playoffs being able to win games in which Jo and Maxey doesn't have to score 70 together to eek out a win against the Knicks, yknow.

Hope Biid is watching this and finally undertanding that having an heliocentric team based on him scoring 30+ to win is not going to get it done.
We need to get 2 or 3 B+ players that fit Biid/Maxey and we can compete with anybody.

So you actually like when injurys play a major part in deciding a champion.
You dont like teams playing to their full potential, that makes the ring less valuable to you lol.
2020 has an asterisk but GS 2015 against Cleveland without Love and Irving is completely fine.
Everybody played under the same conditions. A championship is a championship, its weak to give asterisks, just live with it.
You do you, man. The rest of us are hanging that asterisk.

Don’t forget that Morey needs to update his little formula as well. He is the ultimate champion of heliocentrism.

Agree, I hope Morey and Nurse already understand this and are going to build the team accordingly.

Top three pick drafted onto a team that lost in the ECF with stacked roster after another stumbles into an anticlimactic championship.
Comfortably the worst NBA finals of the past two decades in terms of watchability or suspense.

Brown is the FMVP
time to start up the Tatum got carried narrative like how Jokic didn't beat any good teams last year.
we leave here with something to cope about

I wonder what Tatum is going to text Kobe about tonight. He also knows all about losing FMVPs to a teammate.

The challenge of winning an nba title is getting through 82 games and then winning four series. To complete that in coinciding with one another and not having a four and a half month break in between is a great feat and what separates the bubble and every other title. I can’t tell if you’re struggling to grasp the concept at hand or are being purposefully obtuse bc you’re only true hill to die on is “that’s weak, live with it.” If so I think nba Twitter is more up your alley.
Anyway done arguing with R Kelly Laker fans. **** the Cs and the Lakers lol

Funniest thing was a couple of comments later suggesting that the '08 team should have been a 3-peat group. They clearly didn't learn that they were the original source of what was to become Glenn's post season M.O.Sweet Serenity wrote:The copium from Sixers fans is so damn beautiful ..M2J wrote:

Haha. I completely expect Tatum to have a big scoring game 4 and win the MVP, when anyone who pays attention sees it is Brown making the big iso baskets and White and Holiday making the clutch plays. That whole house of cards will implode at some point next season, but at least Silver got them a ring.
Pretty pathetic indeed what that guy is doing. It shows you can have bad losers, but also bad winners.
Don't think what I said is so delussional.
But congrats to Boston and their city! They were the best by far

All you get from your team winning a championship is a congratulatory message by a random user you haven’t heard before from in realgm?
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

You also get to act ignorant on the general board, the app known as X, and dip that ignorance into rival team forums at will. Well worth it

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
I believe both heliocentric and decentralized systems have their own place in basketball, depending on how the referees are calling the game, the match-ups, and other situational factors. The ability to play both big and small is equally important.
This versatility is a key reason why the Celtics have been so dominant. They can adapt to different styles of play, and their only weakness emerges when they are forced into a heliocentric approach. Fortunately, they didn’t have to rely on this against the Mavericks, who struggled significantly in the playoffs.

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
Even after the final buzzer, ESPN follows Tatum for multiple close ups while getting basically no footage of the rest of the team. It’s just so awkward to see them try to manufacture a superstar when the actual story is the ensemble cast.
