This might be the most overhyped group of consensus "high upside" players in NBA draft history this year. Most of them have the upside of junior and senior kids who have already achieved that upside which is why it's perfectly acceptable to bury the consensus "high upside" guys on your draft boards this year without blinking an eye.

Of course some of them will still go high because there are dumb organizations out there (contrary to what yogurt says that NBA FO's are all 100x more competent than fans) that will reach for nonsense.

None of these guys give you what you're looking for. If Holland had even just an average shot it would change everything for him. If Risacher had a FT% in the 80's or a wingspan over 7' it would change a lot for him too. If Sarr had some kind of touch at the rim or were a bit more competent of a rebounder/physical player it would change a lot. Or if Dillingham were less than atrocious on D or 20 lbs heavier. They're all highly flawed players.

The reality is that Ryan Dunn, Baylor Scheierman, KJ Simpson and Zach Edey might collectively come close to or straight up outproduce Ron Holland, Dalton Knecht, Rob Dillingham and Alex Sarr in the NBA and even if you feel yourself believing this plausible for a split second you know how bad the guys decorated by the media are.

Carrington's playmaking highlights. A/T of 2.12 as a freshman in the ACC.

What did he actually say?

Zach Edey had a fantastic workout with the Utah Jazz earlier this week. I was told "it was child abuse and everyone was blown away", per source.

Zach Edey shot 48/100 from 3 during his workout. pic.twitter.com/sBPSzx3nTr

48/100 isn't that good

The main thing Edey needs to prove is his defense, not sure how much they can get from a workout

For a guard, sure, but for someone over 7' that's pretty good.

How many can Missi hit? :D

I don’t think he’s trolling. That kid can ball. Knecht is a good prospect too, but I prefer the guy who can do more than just score.

I think we should trust BS's 3pt shooting with his FT shooting. He should like 43-44% in a small conference transferred and shot high 30's in the tough Big East. Knecht has shot high 30's through out and his FT shooting is high 70's.

Knect is clearly a SG with an A/T of 1, whereas BS could be like a Bane SG/PG with an A/T of 1.77.

Baylor is an incredible wide open shot maker as evidenced by these workouts and his unguarded 3 stats. If he's getting 8 shots a night as a strictly C&S guy he could easily stroke the 3 >40%. If he's getting 10-12 shots he can hover around 38-40% and then you still get the goodness from him as a rebounder and passer while hopefully his team D is ok. This makes him a viable 4th/5th starter on teams and it stems from what he brings on the glass and as a passer.

I'm out on Ware, he's not as skilled or have the IQ needed to reach his potential.

Edey (I go back & forth on big E, his foot speed will be a problem)

It's either usable or not. And it doesn't seem like his outside shooting is usable at the moment. He does have potential to develop it, but I'm not even sure if that's necessary considering he should always be around the basket.

If his team is running the floor and get sealed off he will likely be trailing frequently so adding a trailer 3 from above the break would be a really nice weapon for him.

He's been working on his shot for a while and as Tolzman said, Edey looks confident in workouts using it. The only way for him to show is if he gets an opportunity to expand his game with the right club. There is going to be a development curve for him either way.

He's a 19/20 year old. The shooting, size, length, and athleticism makes him projectable as a modern stretch big that can provide rim defense. The motor questions have been answered and the shooting is what is having him projected in the lottery.

I would guess we are considering moving up for using Brown. This is pretty clear considering how interested we were in Mobley, and he's a similar player to Ware.

It's the right move IMO if they believe in Trae and want to mask his weaknesses.

None of that matters if you believe he's Christian wood IQ, look at C.Woods career.

Jaylon Tyson has one of the more complete games and looks incredibly smooth and in control. I’m no scout but guys like him, Shannon look pretty damn good.

I’ve been watching more and more of him recently and I have to admit that I’ve reigned in my expectations for him. I now see him as another GTJ. I wouldn’t mind taking him if we’re letting Gary leave, but otherwise I’d look elsewhere. I have decided I’d prefer a guy like Djurisic at 31 much more.

Clingan is awesome and I wish him well. I worry he might struggle to stay healthy. Hope that is misplaced.

what does that have to do with my post?

Unless he had a bad day, 48/100 in practice currently isn't usable in game. Yeah, he can develop it.

Oh rly? I thought he was jacking up fade away 3's every game
