Some Jeremy"s takes.

- He is high on Okoro. He views Okoro as a great defender who is improving shots 3s. He thinks we can make a sign and trade with the Cavs (who need to control their costs due to Donovan"s and Mobley's potential max salary) in exchange for a SRP and MLE money.

- He is high on Rokas. He thinks he is tired of being a bench player in Barcelona and would accept a second-round salary to play around 15 minutes a game.

- He is optimistic about Precious accepting a 5M/y salary because he is a tweener who can not shoot.

- He is pessimistic about a rookie cracking into the rotation this year.

- He can see Washington trade Deni for relatively cheap (I disagree). But he does not trust his shooting entirely.

- He does not like Oubre. Bad shooter and a mediocre defender.

- He thinks Caruso is getting old and will demand a huge salary (around 20M/y) to be our 7th player. Besides, Chicago would not trade for a couple of our garbage picks.

- Monte Morris is a great shooter but he can not drive and his size would not fit next to Brunson.

If we get Okoro in a sign and trade, it would be hard to keep Bojan because we would be hard-capped in the first apron (178M) and with OG, IHart and Bojan, our payroll would hit 170M (9 players). If we are using the MLE to sign Okoro, we will have to waive Bojan. Otherwise, we surely would pass.

We need to strike and Markenen would be a big get. Bogs McBride and 4FRPs for Markenen. His salary is only 18.6 and won't qualify for a crazy super max contract after it expires

Who will leave the rotation? OG, Donte? I doubt Thibs would play Randle or Lauri as a Center.

It doesn't make sense to me either. However, they are guessing just as much as we do. They just have the courage to do it on camera. With that said the overall analysis was great like normal KFS strength is analysis, not sources. Begley is great for sources except when he decides to knick for clicks.

Which is why as well thought out as their argument is, Begley saying they plan to keep Bojan and go over the second apron holds more weight.

Jeremy thinks Cavs will be in a salary cap hell in 2025 after Donovan and Mobley get their max.

I think Cavs should re-sign him for cheap and trade him next season if they need to. But I can see the Cavs sign and trading him if the negotiations are tough. But the price should be at least a late FRP.

Respect your position, and I get it, too. Like, no matter what, there's no way that I would ever want to watch Kyrie Irving play in a Knick uniform. However, if we're restricting entrance to anyone who hasn't pissed off Knicks fans, then this is going to be a very very short list.

That said, I think if we're arguing Randle v KAT, then everyone who can play the SF/PF position is fair game. KD, Lebron, Paul George, etc. Lebron makes us a better team, and I'd argue a much much better one. If we have one more season before extensions kick in, and the tax apron comes into effect, then this is the time to make those tough moves.

I generally agree with you, but the optics are bringing in someone like LeBron seems like a culture killer to me. He wins a championship in NY -- or even just signs or get traded here -- instantly makes it more about LeBron than it is about the NYK.

There's zero chance he's leaving LA, anyway.

Why on Earth would you start Bog over DD?

Bojan is really bad defensively so we wouldn’t start him based on that alone. He could get some bench minutes though if we go into the season with him on the roster still and maybe look for a deadline deal if nothing happens this summer.

Yeah, that's where I'm getting at. And I'm absolutely fine with him as a bench piece. I thought he was getting into a groove and getting that stroke back before that hand injury (and the ankle injury). I think he vibes off Josh well, too.

"Start the season" aka "be on the Knicks as the season starts".....was not intended to mean that he should be a starter....obviously starting Randle and Bogdan alongside each other would be bad defensively and push OG to the 2. I do think however a McBride-Hart-Bogdan-Mitch bench unit could be pretty lethal....you have great defense along with some shotmaking and slashing ability next to Bogdan.
