Tatum takes way too many bad shots. Celtics as a whole were great they could 100% repeat next season and I see no reason for them not to be in the nba finals
Brown is not the best player on the Celtics, stop with this ridiculous narrative.
Yes he is two finals he has outplayed tatum he doesnt take the stupid shots tatum he also won the ecf mvp.. The best player won the award both times.. I will wait to see Tatum outplay Jaylen in the finals. Jaylen is the best player on the celtics till that happens..
Tatum struggled with his shot and obviously forced a lot, but it's a way more nuanced convo than that
Brown shot 8 of 34 3P% in the series (.235) while shooting a much higher 3 point rate (33% higher) than Tatum.
Brown also had a much lower FT rate than Tatum and shot 20% worse at the FT line, so their TS% was actually very comparable.
In the last 2 games brown shot 10-35 ... FIELD GOAL.
Shooting .285% in back-to-back close out games, while also being the recipient of more uncontested dunks off turnovers counts.
The whole series counts.
In counting stats, Tatum led Boston in points, rebounds, and assists:
Points / Rebounds / Assists / FTM / FT%
Tatum 111 / 39 / 36 / 25 / .926
Brown 104 / 27 / 25 / 22 / .733
And Tatum drew the toughest assignment, most doubles (hence most assists).
There's no bad choice here, but Brown did not "outplay" Tatum.
