91 games to go and we could easily end up in last place but thinking in the other direction it would be great so somehow overtake the Dodgers and get a bye. One game behind them.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

With how mediocre the NL is looking right now, can’t see much a scenario we’re not battling for a wild card spot at worst.

I would hope if someone like Adames cools off, maybe that is when Hoskins goes on a tear. We’ll see how this pitching staff holds up too. Really need Peralta to improve.

Freddy will be the Freddy from the back of his baseball card. I think people expecting more than that, just because he's our "ace," will end up disappointed. What we need to do is trade for a quality starting pitcher.

Turang should be higher. Hoskins kind of surprises me as don’t feel like he has necessarily stuck out as much as I was expecting/hoping, but his statcast and even like OPS is solid. I would be curious if he had to decide today on 2025 if he would opt in at 18M or test free agency.

Hoskins is no surprise, but I'm pretty sure he's 4th at DH, not at 1B. That must be a typo. Anyway, DH's seem to either be guys who are so good at hitting that they're worth an entire roster spot even if they don't play in the field (Ohtani, Big Papi, JD, etc etc) or just whoever has the day off from fielding on any given day. Teams understandably don't waste a roster spot on mediocre DH's, to it's not hard to crack the top 5. Hoskins does look like he's been getting unlucky an awful lot, so a good STATCAST wouldn't surprise me at all. I think he turns it around.

Fans won't respect defense enough to move Turang up. It's not a market issue because Ortiz and Yelich got their props. It's just the box score thing. You'll probably see a lot of guys hitting around .300 with a little more power than Turang, and plenty of RBI's too. Look at Bohm's gap at 3B; it's absurd. I'm not suggesting that they should get rid of box score stats, but ffs why not include some variation of WAR with it? Every advanced stat I've seen loves Chapman's defense, and he can't even crack the top 5 despite playing in a tough scoring park. That's just dumb to me.

Slightly good closers with lots of saves will get in too, but they won't be able to leave Hudson out if he keeps this up.

You are correct on Hoskins. He's 4th at DH, not 1B. My apologies

This feels like the right thing to do, but - ****. Hate it. I try not to dream about our pitching staff being healthy this season, but it's damn hard not to.

And for Gasser specifically, just gutted for him with how great he looked right out of the gate. Pulling for him big time and can't wait to see him back.

It's the right call for Gasser. Heal up soon, kid.

Tough news on Gasser, but right call and kind of expected. Hopefully he can return to form and help in 2026 most likely.

we’re a week away from the halfway point and the staff is making it work I guess. Peralta, Rea, Myers seem pretty stable right now. Wilson has been touched up in 2 of the last 3 a bit, but I think you can do alot worse than him at the backend. That 5th spot is kind of a wild card with Rodriguez. It would be nice if Junis at some point can help there. Of all the guys that have been hurt, it seems like he is the closest to returning.

Can’t dismiss him after 25 at bats, but would like to see Black get on a tear. Right now getting some AAAA fear, which I know is waaaaaaay premature.

If Boeve's moved it had better be for an absolute haul.

Somebody on X said its for Winker, lmao. No chance that happens, nor should it.

Looks like MLB has Brown Jr and Boeve as out 10th and 13th prospect respectively.

I'm sorry, but I'm very protective of our prospects. If we are to deal those three, I would like Crochet and Fedde back, or a deal similar. I don't like losing any prospects ever. That's why I hate trade deadline.
