Welcome to Build a Franchise, Season 8!
The new mega thread has been posted and all team pages have been updated. Please take a look at your team page and make sure that everything has been transferred from season 7 to the new thread correctly. If you see anything that is not correct, please let me know as soon as possible. Check salaries, length of contracts, exempt list and options as well as overall salary. Please also check out the draft pick page. Check to make sure that all draft picks are correct, protections have been transferred and all is right on that page as well. It is each teams responsibility to make sure that all info related to their team is correct. If you see anything wrong, PM me so I can correct.
The new league year will officially begin tomorrow afternoon at 5:00PM. Please send in all of your trades, transactions, extensions, or other related roster moves now. If you've made multiple trades, please submit all trades in one PM, broken down with each individual move.
The draft will begin on Friday night. Teams do not need to wait until their time slots before sending in their picks. You can submit your pick early. I have a busy week with a sweet 16 and graduation so it will help to get a little ahead of the draft clock. Feel free to use your time as you choose, but if you have your pick made, feel free to send it early. Teams who can not be online when their pick is on the clock can send me a list of their top selections. I will choose their top related player when their pick is on the clock. If a team misses their pick, they will be skipped and can make their pick at any time. If three subsequent picks are made before the skipped pick is submitted, I will choose the top rated player from the latest NBAdraft.net mock draft for that team. Draft salaries are based on which number pick the player is chosen in. If you move up in the draft due to a skipped pick, you pay the salary based on where the player was chosen, not your original draft slot.
Free agency will begin sometime in July based on my work/family schedule. As soon as I know when I will have a few consecutive days available to run free agency, I will make an announcement. I will do my best to give everyone enough notice but teams will need to be flexible to my schedule based on the amount of time free agency requires.
