So good.

You guys are underselling it. It is $1.50 for a COMBO. Add in a couple self pours of diet coke to give you a post shopping lift.

Costco's food court is a loss leader for them. I've had their hot dogs, pizza, and ice cream. Nothing to write home about. But at those prices, you can't complain.

Here in Sun Prairie, our Costco is next to a Marcus Theater. I've gone to Costco, bought a hot dog and soda, and walked it into the movie theater next door. No one at the theater cares to stop me. That's a nice bonus and much cheaper to pay $1.50 for that than paying $20 for popcorn and a soda.

Yeah, before kids I went a couple times and really enjoyed it. Thought it was a good date destination weekend where you have some great meals, see some temples on the outskirt, etc. and probably cheaper all in from a weekend in NYC, Vegas or LA.

Would like to check out Merida sometime. Heard good things about that city if you wanted something smaller and somewhat safer.

Dealing with some terrible lower back pain. Likely from sitting in my office 10 hours a day. Been stretching, heating pad, ibuprofen, and using a lumbar support pillow but it’s just not getting better.

Short of buying a Herman Miller or something that I plan to do eventually, any tips?

Get a sit-stand desk (along with a fatigue mat to stand on). Made a world of difference for me when I would alternate between sitting and standing.

Will co-sign this. I've had lower back issues since high school due to a slightly unaligned disc. Core exercises and an adjustable standing desk at work have made a big difference.

Don't shoot the messenger - I don't normally subscribe to these alternative healing practices.

As part of several changes to improve your back, you may want to look into acupressure mats. I was extremely skeptical, but have been using one consistently, daily for about a month now and it has at the least helped keep the day-to-day dull aches away. I also find it very relaxing as part of afternoon meditation.

I had a sit/stand desk in the office and got one when I started WFH full time. Makes a big difference. And although I make a point to walk around a lot I have a reminder set on my watch once an hour to do it. I also have an under desk elliptical I use sometimes during the day and at night on the couch. It's not much of a "workout" but at least part of me is moving.

I've never heard of acupressure mats, I may look into those.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I get something similar. And someone suggested using a massage gun on my hamstrings and glutes. 10 minutes of that I feel 100x better.

I've just accepted a certain amount of discomfort and pain every day, but one thing I've enjoyed is using a foot spa bath machine. Fill that thing up, some eucalyptus and spearmint epsom salt, and relax the feet for 20-30 minutes. Feet feel better and the scent is relaxing.

Of greater concern though is my left knee. It's the one I had surgery on after tearing everything in it about 15 year ago, and now I'm a bit worried I'll have to have surgery on it again. Not great bob.

What is the timeline for how long you can expect to keep a drink in the work fridge before it is thrown out/consumed? There is a 20oz Cherry Coke Zero in our fridge that has been there for at least a month. I am 50/50 on whether I am the person who put it there. I don't remember putting it there, but I am the only person I know of to have ever put a Cherry Coke Zero product in there (I usually drink cans, but sometimes have the 16oz bottles).

Am I good?

EOD Friday everything becomes fair game to get thrown out and/or consumed (unless maybe shared condiments like ketchup, mustard, etc.).

Drink it!

(You'll find out Monday who left it there, that's when they'll suddenly need to have it )

Label all items with a sticky note. Say fridge clean-out is (give remaining of week and a couple days into the next to allow for people on PTO). You don't have to actually clean the fridge but if it is still there with a sticky note past the clean-out date it is fair game if it is yours or not.

You will be doing your fellow employees a service. I admit I move around a lot for my job where I may be in one area for a few days and bring some drinks and then forget them in a fridge I will never go back to.

Good news is I have the sit stand desk and mat, so trying to force myself to do that every meeting which is half the day. I’m starting to think I might have something with a disc going on. Pain goes to legs, all that jazz.

Take frequent walks if able to.

Activity is the best medicine.

I didn't have the best luck with chiro, but you're doing what you should. Probably worth a shot or at least an informed opinion.

Being 6'4" would I just hit my knees on the table the whole time with one of those? Or do they sit more out in front of you?

It sits out maybe a foot or so, depending on what's comfortable for you but at 6'4" you would probably have issues. Depends on high the desk/table though. The bottom of my desk is 27.5" I'm 5'11" and my knees just make it. This is the one I got. Super quiet and reliable so far. I have the same brand of squat machine and have had no issues with it in over 2 years. There are a lot of under the desk elliptical's out there.

If you carry a wallet in you back pocket...don't.

Also, yoga. There are a few really good stretches for your back. Do them before bed and when you get up in the morning.

Get a new chair.

Cool, thanks. I might still order one and give it a try - with free returns I've got nothing to lose.
