OG
23/24 - 50 games played
22/23 - 67 games played
21/22 - 48 games played
20/21 - 40 games played
He's consistently missed a lot of time due to injury.
Paul George over the same period: 77, 56, 31, 54.
He's averaged 3 more regular season games per year over that time period, while playing considerably more playoff games (that 31 game season came after a 19 game postseason)
I would also be more concerned with OG than PG.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
If we go the OG route, we still need to find another playmaker. I think in this scenario, it makes the most sense to go after Murray (since Mikal isn’t available).
Murray/Lowry
Maxey/#16
Oubre/Batum
Anunoby/Saric
Embiid/Drummond

2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
OG is good in vacuum but its moreso what he next domino to fall after that. He fits into Tobias' role perfectly but team still needs more onball juice particularly someone who can get to the rim even if just occasionally. OG wants to be that but has not shown he is capable of it.
and yeah he has been ran into the ground multiple seasons by Thibs and Nurse so while he's younger, there is a lot of wear and tear on them legs lol.
BUT again think the Knicks match any offer and he stays...this is just agent posturing atm

Improving our rebounding issues should be the first and foremost concern. After that, I think things will fall into place with the roster.

Feels overly simplistic and reactionary to losing to a great rebounding team.
If your perimeter guys can't stay in front of their man and our big is forced to come help or you're forced in a zone, rebounding will continue to be an issue regardless of how good your players are at rebounding.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
Paul George is actually a great rebounder. Similar to Jayson Tatum. They are great at attacking the ball in the air unlike Tobias who is a decent rebounder but never attacks it in the air when it’s a must have offensive or defensive rebound. That Knicks serious as was Miami last season were more so being out hustled. Tobias Batum and Lowry and of course embiid were just too slow to chase down long boards against Donte and Hart. Their role players were faster than ours and went all out. Thats why who we choose to pair with George and the big two matter. I want to be able to defend and rebound to push pace like the Knicks, run motions in half sets like the Nuggets, drive and kick like the Celtics. I want it all. SG and PF gotta be winning players. Defense, passing, hustle, high energy. Sounds like Caruso, DFS, Bobby Portis, KCP, Royce ONeal, Caleb Martin, Derrick Jones, etc

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
I am for getting Paul George.
But OG is a class 1A.
Getting OG would really help the Sixers in multiple ways. First, he is cheaper than Paul George and would allow Philly to get another good player.
Second, he is a great on ball defender. This would allow Embiid to not have to help as much and stay out for rebounding.
Third, he is a willing and improving shooter (unlike Tobias) and can really help space the floor.
Finally, it weakens NYK immensely. They go back to being average with him gone.

I agree but if we’re trying to save money Alex Caruso offers the same ability for pennies lol.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
A week out from the draft, here's my offseason outlook:
Starters
Maxey
Embiid
Reserves
Council IV
Reed?
Draft Targets (based on Tankathon and Ringer projections as to who will be drafted in those ranges)
#16 - Johnny Furphy, Ja’Kobe Walter, Ron Holland, Bobi Klintman
#41 - Harrison Ingram, Oso Ighodaro, Pelle Larsson, Jalen Bridges, PJ Hall, Dillon Jones, Kevin McCullar, Baylor Scheierman, Jonathan Mogbo, Ryan Dunn
UDFA - Tristan Newton (priority)
Draft focus is on primarily wings/forwards that can play a role in what I hope is a deep and versatile group between Maxey & Embiid slotted as the 1 & 5.
Free Agency (assuming that Anunoby, KCP & Marting choose to opt out)
Priority Target - OG Anunoby (max offer)
Secondary Targets (non-max) - Kentavius Caldwell-Pope, DeMar DeRozan
MLE Targets - Kelly Oubre, Talen Horton-Tucker, Caleb Martin
Fill Out the Roster Options
Guards - Spencer Dinwiddie, Delon Wright, Shake Milton, Lonnie Walker, Kyle Lowry, Aaron Holiday
Wings - Naji Marshall, Yuta Watanabe, Royce O’Neale, Gary Harris, Jordan Nwora, Nicolas Batum, Gordon Hayward
Bigs - Goga Bitadze, Andre Drummond
If they can land Anunoby, probably wouldn't have room for KCP so would try to fit Caleb Martin in and then bring back Oubre on MLE. If they can split cap space between KCP and DeRozan would also try to bring back Oubre. I would group a trade of 2nds for John Collins in the non-max FA options and try to pair it with a KCP or Caleb Martin signing
As an alternative, would consider splitting the MLE between a pair of guys to have more depth (Dinwiddie/Bitadze, Marshall/Bitadze, etc)

Yeah, i like Culver. Another guy that might be worth a shot is Josh Primo.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I wonder what the contract for Naji Marshall will look like. I think he is absolutely a possible ascending wing solution. The type of guy you sign and looks brilliant and can sign for a pre-production contract.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
Us giving OG the max is going to send me spiraling. We already had one guy consuming a massive chunk of our payroll for most of Embiid's career who couldn't pick up the slack when our other stars weren't performing.
Now we're going to do it again with a 3&D guy? At least we know he's not going to save us, whereas Tobias was a imposter "star" so we kept hoping in the early postseasons with him.
