If I understand this correctly, Fultz has a cap-hold of 25.5M. If the Magic retain Isaac and M-Wagner, I guess Orlando needs to either quickly resign Fultz or release his Bird rights. Any thoughts on Fultz cap-hold situation?

Absolutely none…they should have renounced his hold before the champagne popped in the Garden. Even in the most remote chance he’s kept, they need to clear the cap before renegotiating.

How much decline in tv ratings, including both finals and playoffs overall will play in future salary cap projections?

None, as the new deal was already negotiated.

I read an editorial that networks are over spending on live events as it is the only thing that competes with streaming platforms. That the streamers are getting into this game, the money is gonna go crazy, yet again.

We are only about 10 years away from an individual player getting a contract that pays more than 100M a year. 1B life-time incomes will become quite common in about 20 year.

So: the cap will be fine. Over this CBA, it will be a max 10% increase each year. The next CBA could lead to a major labor fight, as frankly, a 100M per year contact for "The Next LBJ" will be an underpay (from agents' views).

I really don't get the scheduling for the Finals...I know a 1:00 game (Eastern) is bad for the West coast, but why not 4pm on a Saturday or Sunday? (overseas friends-you're screwed either way...but probably used to it  ). I get that I'm just a grumpy old man, but I have the same beef every year with the Super Bowl...I'm sure the networks know what they're doing, but it just seems like a watch party is a lot more likely earlier on a 'work' night...I distinctly remember watching the Super Bowl in the afternoon, as a kid, but something changed...I know I'm not the only one - all of my friends at the nursing home agree that it's too late

Would a SnT for Quickley even be entertained without a massive overpay? TOR is in a tenuous spot...they could intentionally go up or down to get better...maybe swapping WCJ for Poeltl (I assume that's a plus for TOR) with some picks and stuff might free IQ? I know what TOR gave up for IQ, and that they like him, but everything is fluid in an NBA rebuild...and they have to recognize they're in one.

It would probably take IQ requesting it - which I honestly don't like the smell of.

During this finals in particular my interest for nba was very low, partically because Euro , partically because i didn't hate neither team enough to root against them.

I guess that answers why NBA will have so tough time without Lebron. Guy generated as many fans as he generated hate-watching haters.

As somebody living in Europe i prefer West coast late time slot, i wake up early enough to watch second half

Locked in on a Siakam and Halliburton core. Not bad.

Sabonis & Fox or Siakam & Hali?

I think the Raptors want to keep Quickley long term.

Siakam’s pending extension being announced should see more reports for other players trickle in now.

I’d pick Fox/Sabonis

Pacers had to do what they had to do though. Siakam is a great fit with Haliburton.

The Pacers are a great example of how to build a team in a small market. I wish Welt could learn something from them, but alas this will probably be another year of sitting on depreciating assets and wasted draft picks instead of using them to our advantage.

Thoughts on OG Annunoby. Looks like he will be testing free agency. I know he is a position we do not need, but hes a good 3pt shooter fits with our core age wise. I'd much rather throw our money at him than an aging Klay or PG.

Not really? I mean, we've already got our two best players on the team in Franz and Paolo. We acquired them through the draft vs through trades.

I disagree. I believe we are already better than the Pacers and have the best player between both teams. I hope the Pacers don't start getting overrated due to not having to face competition since the other teams best players were in street clothes.
