Denver has the #28 and #56 pick in this "least excited" draft class in years.
Our previous draft focused on experienced rookies, but Malone didn't give them a chance anyway.
We can also use our 2024 pics as assets for some draft-day deals.

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
At the 28th pick, gotta get lucky if we can, but it's happened before. We unexpectedly had Bones Hyland and Julian Strawther fall to us, so we're gonna have to wait and see. My three biggest wishes at this point (in order based on my prayers) are
1) C Kel'el Ware
2) C Yves Missi
3 PG Carlton Carrington
Most likely picks available IMO
1) C DaRon Holmes II
2) PF Tyler Smith
3) SG Baylor Scheierman

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
And if we keep our 2nd rounder (#56), which I'd give a 50-50 chance here are a few names that could be stash candidates (in no particular order) or as a backup/G-Leaguer
PG Tristen Newton
C Uhlrich Chomche
PF/C Adem Bona
PG Juan Nunez
SG Antonio Reaves
PF/C Oso Ighodaro
C N'Faly Dante

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
After reading about him, have a feeling Dillon Jones could be the next Bruce Brown. He's got a 6'11 wingspan at just 6'6", more of a SF than SG though. Built like a tank at 237lbs, don't know if he'll have the speed for a G position but he sure could overpower most of them.

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
Latest B/R mock draft has Ke'lel Ware dropping to the 24th pick and BOS trading #30, #53 and a 2026 2nd to move up to select him. I gotta think if that's all it'd DEFINITELY match that one, just not sure it'll happen that way, it isn't called a mock for nothing. To move up to obtain a backup of his caliber, 2 2nds seems like a no-brainer. Feels like he could spell Joker for 8-12mins a game.

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
Looks like we traded up with the Suns to get DaRon Holmes II for #28, #56 and 2 future 2nds. Fills a big need for us, but now we have fewer assets to find a backup PG. Holmes is a strong rim protector, has a decent offensive game and is a solid rebounder.

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
Good deal, in a bad draft class chances to get something useful at #22 are far bigger than at #28. I expected to see a new guard, but if 6'10 PF DRH2 can play as a backup center too, I have no complaints.
What confuses me is that in most 2024 mock-drafts previews DRH2 should be available at #28, so I'm afraid that our FO may take him as plan B because their original "steal of the night" was already stolen before #22.

Gotta agree, I've watched some tape of DRH2 (nice nickname there) and he looks like he took a huge jump this last year, looks like a good prospect to fill this position.
And looking at the actual draft as compared to mocks, who would thought Knecht would fall to #17 (LAL steals this draft) and when Edny went as high as he did, it threw off all the C prospects, forcing us to move up IMO. And honestly, #56 as well as the other 2 2nds are gonna be worth much so it's a good deal to secure a need for us at backup C/PF

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
I pretty much like DRH2 pick, it is the right profile we needed and he has intriguing upside with his rim protection and 3%. Potentially he could even play with Jokic if needed. Additionally Nnaji might be able to play in his natural position and perform much better.
I also liked two undrafted selections. Trey Alexander and PJ Hall were projected to be mid second rounders, at least they don't have clear gaps on their game. Btw Hall and Hunter have been playing together for 3 years at Clemson.
What is a disaster is paying 3 unprotected second round picks for Jackson and his 5.25M$. For the same price, Dallas got a very useful player while dumping TH's much higher contract.
There must be a bigger movement coming 1st July, otherwise that RJax trade was going to be available the whole season. If that was the cost to keep KCP, well invested

Re: 2024 Draft (June 26–27)
Looking like UDFA G Trey Alexander one of the steals of the draft, even though he wasn't drafted. at 6'4" with a 6'10" wingspan, he's playing like a Jamal Murray-lite. He's playing a very calm and controlled game in the SL, perhaps not as dynamic as The Blue Arrow, but will eventually bring a new element to our 2nd unit. Looks to be a potent bench backcourt.
