Really like the idea of adding Shannon as our Tyrese Maxey

Updated workout list with 7 additional names. Pacome Dadiet could be an interesting swing if you believe in his two-way ability. Didn't put up gaudy numbers with Ratiopharm Ulm, but he does flash quite a bit of skill and he's only 18, so you'd be projecting a few years down the line if this org can develop him.

I’d be down with Shannon now that he has been cleared in his rape trial. I think he’ll go higher, though, because of that.

Ron Swanson wrote:Count me as a skeptic over Ware having actual "unicorn" potential based on some really small sample 3PT shooting (42 attempts). He was a 66% guy from the line in college (63% this season) and I tend to put more stock into that as a measure of how your shooting will translate (Myles Turner shot 84%, Brook shot 76%, Naz Reid shot 73%, etc.). So really, it comes down to who I like more between Ware and Missi when it comes to who I trust can do "big man stuff" better. Ware can theoretically do more on offense, but man, Missi is such a demon as a play finisher and roll-man, and I certainly trust his motor and energy/mental makeup more.

Missi's ball handling and ability to score on *short* rolls is such an interesting wrinkle.

I think Ware has good overall touch and his FT% in that context is just another indicator that he's not working like he should. He is just not a tough dude, physically or mentally. All the tools in the world, except for the one that serves as a gating factor to determine who can and can't compete at the highest level. I don't know the kid but I've watched a lot of his games now, and I wouldn't want him on the Bucks, in spite of his talent.

Holmes is the modern big we've needed to unlock Giannis and make us built for the playoffs, instead of the regular season team we've been.

And he's only 21.. Why will he be available at that spot?

Same reasons Jalen Williams wasn't a top 5 pick. Teams look past players that break out in year 3, and they ignore players that aren't from power 5 schools even if they dominate good competition.

I suspect if Kyshawn is there he will be the pick.

Givony's updated mock

Kel'el Ware, C, Indiana | Age: 20.1

Ware was viewed to be building solid momentum in the pre-draft process but wasn't among the 21 players voted by teams into the draft green room, something that could still change once the final wave of invites is released later this week.

He has casted a wide net in workouts thus far, conducting more than a dozen to this point with teams ranging from the late lottery to the end of the first round. Milwaukee, a team he visited, has a clear need at center, with Brook Lopez, 36, entering the final season of his contract, and Bobby Portis able to opt out next summer.

Ware's ability to both pop or roll gives him coveted flexibility he can tap into, along with his solid rebounding and shot-blocking prowess. At 7-1, talent is certainly not a question mark for the 20-year-old, making him a solid value play for any of the teams picking in this range.

33. Milwaukee Bucks (via Trail Blazers)
Tyler Smith, SF/PF, G League Ignite | Age: 19.6
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Trying to catch up on the combine scrimmages and wow is the coverage bad. I'd be listening to a podcast if I wanted to listen to you talk about the overall draft process and not what was actually happening on the floor.

NBA coverage from top to bottom is cooked. They got rid of most of their analysts who can break down a game or play and went for people who drama bait. Even the good NBA content that used to be around eventually got gobbled up by bigger entities and turned into crap... Draft Express, Grantland/Ringer, Lowe, etc. The Dunker Spot podcast has been one of the few I still listen to on occasion.

I think those who said look at Dunn as a big are right.

Lively played 20 minutes per game as a rookie, screening, rim running, catching lobs and blocking shots.

Dunn could play a lot like that, but also be an awesome wing defender.

You’d probably need a coach with an open mind to play him like that, but I’m hoping it would be obvious enough.

I’ve long wanted a defender who could do Giannis things to add to this team. Someone who can rim protect, play in passing lanes, and capably guard outside. We’ve run into issues at times when we switch and Giannis gets pulled out, that we don’t have anyone who can now protect the rim on the weakside. Dunn could look really nice there.

If you're looking at a big who can help you in the dunker spot, actually dunking, rebounding, and on the other end protecting the rim against NBA size, it's Missi. Then you still have reasonable concerns he gums things up for Giannis because of the lack of shooting. But at least draft the genuine article, as opposed to the knock-off, who's probably a big wing.

Dunn is Shane Battier, if he couldn't shoot from career start. Battier averaged >2 blocks per game his last 2 seasons in college too. But we wouldn't consider him an NBA rim protector, even though he did average a little more than a block per game for most his career. That's what we should expect from Dunn, thru challenging perimeter shots, & help inside late off a running start.

I went back and watched a bunch of Kirilenko vids after watching a bunch of Dunn's videos. Hoping I could see a comparison. Eh, kind of. Kirilenko was more chaotic, and I think those extra few inches on his wingspan show up.

I like Missi but I’m interested in Dunn as a wing defender. I just think his best spot on offense is the dunker spot. Battier had great recognition/anticipation but he didn’t have the hops that Dunn has. Dunn is a solid help defender at the rim and very switchable, not a guy thats going to play the drop and protect the rim.

After reading more about different prospects I am more in agreement with Ron Swanson on High floor high ceiling picks. So that leaves out Dunn who is more NBA ready which Ron Swanson doesn't want but would take Dunn. Um conflicting. My top 4 at 23 are Jaylon Tyson, Terrence Shannon, Kyshawn George, and Pacome Dadiet. The first two could probably contribute 1st year at some level. I have soured on Ware snce His motor is questionable which I hate in any prospect.

Dadiet also has motor questions.

I would love a list of the all time pre draft questionable motor players. I wonder what the success rate is for players labeled with that moniker.

With the news from KOC that we might try to become more versatile defensively, I wonder if we're the team that made the promise to Holmes?

We didn’t even work him out. Would be kind of weird to make a promise without a workout.
