HOU - ATL - SAS: picks 1, 3, 4 on the move
I think this makes sense under the following (plausible) scenario:
1. Atlanta prefers Clingan to Risacher and Sarr
2. Washington is drafting Sarr and may prefer Clingan to Risacher
3. San Antonio prefers Risacher to anyone else in the draft
4. Houston wants to extract value and has credible interest in Clingan or Risacher (whichever is there), meaning
5. Risacher, Sarr, and Clingan will all be off the board at 4, and Risacher is San Antonio's preferred player
HOU trades: 2024 HOU 1st (3), Jae'Sean Tate, Jock Londale
in: 2024 SAS 1st (4), 2025 CHI 2nd, 2026 UTA 2nd, 2027 LAC 2nd
Houston drops salary and adds some 2nds for moving down one spot.
ATL trades: 2024 ATL 1st (1), Clint Capela, 2025 SAC 1st (1-12, 1-10, 2 2nds), 2027 LAC 2nd
in: 2024 HOU 1st (3), 2025 CHI 1st (1-10, 1-8, 1-8, 2nd), Jae'Sean Tate, Jock Londale
Atlanta moves down from 1, still drafts their preferred target, drops *some* salary, and gets a reasonably valuable future pick (if Chicago continues playing this half-in-half-out game) that, IMO, is a bit better than the Kings pick.
SAS trades: 2024 SAS 1st (4), 2025 CHI 1st (1-10, 1-8, 1-8, 2nd), 2025 CHI 2nd, 2026 UTA 2nd
in: 2024 ATL 1st (1), Clint Capela, 2025 SAC 1st (1-12, 1-10, 2 2nds)
San Antonio gets their preferred player. Capela isn't valuable, but I do think he gives them someone useful in their rotation.

Seconds isn't enough for us.
Probably would need to send us Griffin.

In a world of perfect information and where all 4 teams want a different players, I don't see any major flaws here other than Atlanta should get more out this imo.
The problem is there isn't perfect information and so Atlanta particularly is risking losing their guy for a really paltry return and I don't think I'd take the risk this lightly. Feels like the Spurs owe more value here and to Atlanta.

Here is a different version that might address the above concerns?
HOU trades: 2024 HOU 1st (3), Jae'Sean Tate, Jock Londale

Re: HOU - ATL - SAS: picks 1, 3, 4 on the move
I guess it depends on who the Rockets want to draft.
If they are out on Clingan, and are going draft Reed or Castle, it's house money for the Rockets.
I feel like Atl would as for one of thier picks back from SA
Also. Houston doesn't need to cut money, so Jock and Tate can stay if not needed for matching.

Re: HOU - ATL - SAS: picks 1, 3, 4 on the move
I think an underrated aspect to the moves where the Spurs move up is how much more expensive the first pick's salary is than the fourth. The Spurs casually adding $3 Million to their payroll when they're not that far below the cap is a legitimate cost. In my mock off-seasons, that's the difference between offering Monk $100M/4 and a much less superlative offer of $87M/4. For the right player, obviously, but not just "to get the first crack at it".

Can take Tate and Jock out. Houston wants the tradable salary and if they didn't those guys have $0 guaranteed money for the 2025 season (Tate has a team option, Jock non guaranteed).
Tbh I want reed and if we're at 3 and SA wants to trade up for not Reed then sur will take a bunch of seconds

Im not giving Capela and Griffin for Jock and tate. We already had Jock and kicked him out in a trade to the suns for cash considerations. Tate does nothing for me i would rather take another chance on AJ getting his shot back. That leaves #1 for #3 and a top 10 protected pick next year. Thats not gonna cut it for me for #1 we can do better than that.

Honestly, I don't see how you do better than that given the quality of this draft.

I honestly don't get why Houston would care at all about AJ griffin if they're still getting Sheppard, or really anything. They don't have rotation spots. I think you can leave him out if it's a big deal to Atlanta fans. If Houston's guy is still gonna be there why wouldn't they just take a couple seconds like Indy did last year

I don't see why Spurs would pay that price for a guy they may find anyway at 4, or someone of that caliber. I would absolutely not give up a lottery '25 pick for that, Also, pass on Capela, no need for him for the Spurs. Hawks can pick whomever they want at 1, best thing Spurs can do is stand pat and call the bluff of all the teams that are desperate to trade back (Hawks, Rockets).

Draft falls in place quickly if Atlanta just picks the guy they really like in Clingan. No need to
overthink their decision.
