for 34/35 y/o Grant or current Grant?
Grant is a good player, I'd love to have him for the next 2 years, but his deal is back loaded and goes into older age.
Never once said he's a toxic asset, his contract is toxic in the back end, he's a neutral asset to slightly positive, the argument is whether he's positive enough to warrant a 1st, or 1st + Gafford, I think the 1st is arguable, the 1st + Gafford is too overpriced.

Fair; I'm coming in halfway through the conversation.

I think he's worth a first. First plus Gafford is arguable. I think the back end is probably fine; at worst he's Tobias Harris, which is ... not optimal but doable.

And the conversations I've been having are about the contract as a whole, not just currently.

Tobias Harris is actually the cautionary tale.
Harris is 32 and is expiring now, Grant will be at Tobias Harris phase after 2 years, and then he is signed for additional 2 years at 35/yr.

Also not understanding the difference between 30% and 20%.

The end of Grants contract will be a few years into the new TV deal, you'll see similar caliber of player making a lot more than that then.

Not only are your ages wrong but the only way his contract is "back loaded" is if you don't understand that the cap rises each year...

There is another world where I do understand the cap rises, and I think paying 20% of the cap to 34 y/o Jerami Grant isn't a good idea, I'd love to discuss this, but I'd rather do it is a less abrasive and obnoxious manner, so enjoy this one, I'm out...

If rumors are to be.believed Chicago wouldnt accept any offer from dallas without Lively involved

Chicago is going to be disappointed if they think that the expiring Caruso will get anything close to that in terms of value. Gafford+Hardy for AC..?
In the event that they do not want selections....

THJ+2 SRP to 3 team..

Maxi/Powell to BLAZERS

J.Grant/Duop Reath to MAVS

Lively/Reath/FA
JGrant/PJ/O-Max
Luka/DJJ
Caruso/Green
KI/Exum

Hard pass from POR.

That’s a FRP short.

JRoy you and i don't agree on much. But Dallas is one of the few situations where I can see POR turning Grant into a FRP.

I believe that Hardaway Jr/Powell for Grant works under the cap. Throw in a 2025 1st with some level of protection (I think top-7 is reasonable) and it seems like a fair deal for both sides.

We now agree on 2 things;
1-we rarely agree
2-your deal

Well if you do understand the issues then other other explanation is you were purposefully misrepresenting them?

Jerami grant is paid 20% of the cap compared to Harris at 30%. It's a factual difference that you did not address when comparing them. It's a 150% difference so not insignificant. Did you know and misrepresent it intentionally or did you not know and mistakenly compare them as similar contracts?

Jerami grant expires at 34. You claimed he was paid at 34 and 35. It's a factual difference. Did you know and misrepresent it intentionally to make him look worse or did you not know and mistakenly claim it? You claim his contract is back loaded when it actually goes down as a % of cap, was this claim made knowing it was false or because you didn't know?

I guess if you want to make wrongful claims in order to make a guy look worse than he is we should all hold our tongues. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt but since you are quite sure of yourself then it's even worse than I assumed.
