I don't think it's a terrible move. It just really can't be the only move they make. They still need to add a facilitating lead guard and then make some trades to balance the roster out.

At the end of the day, Klay did make 268 threes last year at 39% which was a "down" year for him percentage wise.

268 made threes in one season would be a Magic franchise record. The Magic's top 3PT makes guy last year only had 153 and only two guys cracked 100 period.

Klay, even at 34, is still one of the best high volume, high accuracy shooters in the game.

I am obviously very weary about what he has left defensively (IMO not much), but he'll help this team on offense, perhaps significantly.

If they go the "sign Klay to replace Gary and nothing else" route, then it's a problem.

I don't know how much you can really do. Hoops is 5 guys on the floor and you just can't build a truly deep contending team with the salary cap. If Giannis, Embiid, Tatum, Jokic, Dame, Murray, SGA, Trae, Edwards, etc etc go down for any extended time - their "contenders" are lucky to make the playoffs. That's professional sports - particularly basketball.

Bench play is important, but not an antidote to major injury to stars...just can't win without stars.

Its to just hold the fort. Make sure you don't get to a 8-game losing streak just because one or both stars are out. Also to make sure we don't put a lot of miles in their bodies before POs

OKC just got AC for Giddey!!!

What is the lineup for the Bulls? Are they playing Giddey as the PF?

Idk but OKC is scary.

Caruso is a massive improvement over Giddey for what OKC needs.

Depends.. they are in win now mode. Drafting a rookie C to take the pressure of Chet? Ehhh... Besides IMO they need a banger PF not a C.. someone in the mold of WCJ.

Seriously though, CHI has Ball Coby Ayo DDR and Zach to go along with Giddey. Those guys kinda need the ball in their hands. Unless the Bulls blow it up, i dunno where he fits.

Honestly don’t really want Klay personally. The only way I would be OK with Klay is if we also land Paul George. Go all in for two years and see what happens. If not I’d rather keep our current roster and add FAs like Hartenstein, Luke Kennard, Malik Monk while keeping Mo and Ingles

Yeah i dunno what they are thinking about making the POs. Their 25pick is top10 protected by SA as well. You would think they start their tank engines even now and make sure they get a top3 pick in the Mualach-Flagg draft. Its supposed to be stronger than the Franz draft as well
