Bulls need a youth movement. Makes sense for both teams.

Great trade for OKC. Giddey was redundant and they got a veteran defensive stopper to balance out the young offensive talent, great fit.
Good trade for the Bulls also. Got a young PG who has flashed some real high level playmaking at this level and a good piece to kick off what should be a rebuild. Win Win if you ask me

Great trade for the Bulls. What people don't realize about Giddey is he's only 21 years old. He improved from 22% to 33% on 3 point shooting within a year. Given time, he could shoot at a 40% rate in a couple of years. He's also a triple double threat, and probably the best 6'9 ball facilitator since Magic Johnson. Here are some of his big games:

**17/13/14 43.8% @ DAL**

**24/4/8 52.6% @ SAC**

**20/6/10 50% @ UTA**

**23/6/8 57.1% @ BOS**

**28/11/12 50% @ NYK**

**31/10/9 63.6% @ CHA**

When Shai was out, he was averaging a near triple double. The Bulls got lucky; I don't think they are rebuilding. Giddey can do what Lonzo did and more.

I was hoping Presti would keep him and put him in the 2nd unit. The people who say he's not a good fit probably haven't watched a lot of Thunder ball, which is fine because the team is relatively new and upcoming.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that he puts up some really good numbers while scoring inefficiently on a bad team that gets him paid. The playoffs though really highlighted his weaknesses that likely are going to be difficult to overcome.

I don't think one playoff series truly reflects what kind of player he is. He had a horrible year with the pedophile scandal and completely choked in the playoffs. Before that, he was integral to the Thunder's 1st seed and was the best player when the ball was in his hands when Shai was injured.

He's capable of averaging a triple D and already has more than all active PGs; only Doncic has more.

Lonzo Ball is spent. There's no hope for this guy. We saw what the Bulls are capable of when they have a PG. Giddey is better than Ball and has all star potential.

It's debatable the Thunder won this trade. I was hoping they would keep him.

Him and Valanciunas just does not fit the modern NBA. Sooner than later, they'll find themselves in a Europe league.

With Giddey (who I think is better than Ball), they are going to run it again. I would be surprised if they are rebuilding.

I love this trade for OKC. With all of their future picks and all of the young talent, this team is looking more and more formidable. I'm a little confused by the Bulls not getting at least a first outside of the lottery. Maybe Caruso said he wouldn't extend with them?

What’s Chicago thinking here?

that Caruso wasn't in their long term plans and they want to rebuild and mostly, that Giddey is a 21 year old foreigner who still has loads of upside and has already shown alot of good traits and skills (with one glaring issue , obviously his shooting)

OKC wanted to compete and couldn't provide a good setting for him to develop - the Bulls can..

Common Caruso W…

But nice fresh start for P Giddey.

Thunder still need a legit C but they still have a ridiculous amount of flexibility and picks to make that happen. Thunder are such a scary team for the future. They just got their own version of Derrick White.

Good trade for both teams for where they’re at now, but I think looking back in 5 years we’ll be thinking what a steal for Chicago

I also like Giddey but based on his current value and the off court stuff that clearly didn't help, the Bulls should have gotten at least 1 1st Rounder as part of the package.

Nah, they've got to keep Giddey away from the youths.

Giddey has unbelievable potential, and I really hope he crushes it in Chicago. His 3pt % has been improving, and he's an elite passer. That being said, this season was an exhausting season to be a Thunder fan and have to listen to and defend against all of the Giddey hate. I'm really looking forward to him, the Thunder, and Thunder fans getting a fresh start.

EDIT: The post above mine is exactly what I'm talking about. Comments like that suck.

So true.

Bulls got a steal. As talented as the Thunder were, Giddey was the 2nd best player on that team when the ball was in his hands, but his reputation destroyed his worth: no team wanted to touch him after the pedophile scandal, then he botched the playoffs.

The Thunder had no choice but to move a future 6'9 Jason Kidd.

Caruso, SGA, Joe, Wallace, Dort. That's quite a guard rotation. If they can sign Hartenstein and trade a couple of their picks for a sweet shooting small forward - watch out. Even more dangerous than they already are.

i dont think both caruso and dort will be on the starting 5. giddey was not the best piece for this team but he was the only reliable ball handler on the court with sga. i still expect a wing who can handle the ball and make plays. boy how much they need prime hayward right now.

Not sure why everyone is acting like Giddey is nothing.

He's a young player that doesn't work well within OKC's system.

If Chicago is blowing it up hes a decent piece to have instead of wasting Caruso's talent. This is a good move for both teams.

There will be a thread next season about okc making a mistake giving up on Giddey.

A+ move for the Thunder.

This move is tough to judge in a vacuum for the Bulls because you have to figure a bunch of other player movement is about to happen. That said, a weird place to start for the Bulls because Caruso is so fungible and Giddey on paper fits awkwardly with what they have. I would figure they'd move off some of the bigger contracts first and then figure out what they need with a Caruso move.
