Caruso is 30 & probably gonna get expensive next year. Hopefully the Bulls will also get some type of pick compensation as well. As far as Giddey the player… he’s young enough to improve the shooting but likely a lifetime liability on the defensive end.

I feel like follow up moves are needed and this trade is tough to judge in a vacuum until we see what else they do.

Bulls definitely need a shakeup but Caruso was like the last guy on the list I would have started with because you can kind of plug him in anywhere.

I love Caruso on OKC. He's going to be a menace next to SGA. That is like nearly 6 stocks a game just from your backcourt.

And now Caruso has chet rim protection behind him instead of Vuc who can't defend.

OKC is a legit finals threat and they have the assets and cap space to get even more pieces

Yeah honestly this is a huge move for OKC

If you're the Bulls you gotta rebuild so I don't see anything wrong with taking a chance on Giddey. However, I feel like Chicago could have also gotten one of OKCs million 1st rounders

They need a legit big. Which is unsettling.

They're my pick for the finals next season. That said, they were my pick this season too but the cast wasn't ready. My boy **** killed though.

I think it's either Hartenstein via FA or Jarrett Allen via trade

It sucks the way the league limits teams from spending on their own free agents. It makes zero sense why OKC can pay more

Lot of work for bish but I know how much he loves this league he created and it really speaks to the activity and the health of BAF that over 2/3 of the league is already involved in off-season moves.

We are in season 8!!!

maybe make a rule next year that specific trades have to be finished before sending in another trade involving guys? there have been a lot of trades where I think i'm just a 1 for 1 trade with another team but I'm part of a bigger thing (including this one).

not sure if that makes it easier or worse for bish though lol

I just dont understand why any trades were sent in when Bish didnt make his routine annoucement
on when and how to send them in...

that's not the issue at all i don't think? only a few people sent ahead of time.

maybe some middle ground with it, but it just doesn't work like that in real life where some teams have no idea if they're part of a bigger thing. not saying this is the case in this particular trade, but in the past i have been part of bigger things i never knew. my trade with one singular team shouldn't be affected by 3 other teams not being able to work out cap space, with so many potential moves being at risk from one team miscounting or not being able to figure it out. it makes it hard on bish AND can screw teams that just thought it was an easy trade between them and someone else.

I've done over 300 trades...75 in one month in 2019 I believe...
All it takes is one gm to make a mistake on a trade that is "Dependent" on other trade/s
and it snowballs...Compound that with Bish making modifications to the trading system and
making an annoucement for the trades to be submitted one way...
If there are 5-10 trades that were submitted differently prior to the annoucement it can cause chaos...At that point, Bish will have no choice but to spreadsheet every single trade and team...

I think if every trade is date and time stamped that could help. This way bish could just put them in order and if the trade doesnt work he can move on to the next trade...

Anytime I’m brokering multi-team trade, I operate with transparency and inform the GM I’m making the proposal to that other teams are involved and would have to sign off on their end.

I think you’re underestimating the fact that bish often turns the submitted deals into larger deals for his processing convenience. Which should be totally fine.

Like, I don’t think any of us should mind if we send in a 3-team trade and there is a delay in the announcement because bish turns it into an 8-team deal (due to rerouted players and subsequent transactions) for his processing convenience.

I’m sure if any of the unrelated trades that he groups in for the announcements, hits a snag that he wouldn’t penalize the preceding smaller deal or jeopardize it.

In that case, he’d revert to making the smaller simplified announcement, even if it means he has to do a bit more work.

The issue with this year is that so many teams sent in so many trades with multiple PMs. One player got traded five times including back and forth multiple times between the same two teams. So many teams sent in an early PM but by the time I open a later PM the player(s) they acquired was already moved.

I think for this one specific time of year, we will need to implement something along the lines of what we did during FA a few years back. Limit each team to one PM for just this time of year. And in that PM, they should only say players currently on their team and players who will end on their team after everything settles. I don't need to know how a player went from team A to team B via teams C, D, E, and F.

Just a simple IN/OUT with players and picks and I can figure who goes where.
All-Time Draft

PG- Oscar Robertson/Bob Cousy
SG- Earl Monroe/James Harden/Dana Barros
SF- Billy Cunningham/Michael Finley/Chet Walker
PF- Elvin Hayes/Dolph Schayes/Tom Chambers/Danny Manning

^^ yep that's what i'm more alluding to with trades finalized. "agreed upon trades" that turn into players being moved is hard to track lol.

i can "agree" to trade someone in May and we both agree on it but can't send it in yet, and then that player is considered movable to the other team, who move it around 3 more times by the time it's time to send trades or they're still discussing it...

so i just labeled my stuff sacramento in/sacramento out cause i have no idea where guys will end up, but with the original trade partner in the title so at least that person can confirm via their side what's staying and bish can match it.
