Starting PF for OKC

Post#1 » by zimpy27 » Thu Jun 20, 2024 11:13 pm

Warriors have around $25m in capspace to bring in a starting PF.

The free agent PF they could bring in is Tobias Harris or a C like Hartenstein

Otherwise, there are a number of players in the NBA that could slot in to the $25m through trade..
John Collins
Wiggins
JJJ
Draymond
CamJ
Kuzma
BroLo (not a PF but Chet would fit with him)

Which do people see as most likely to be the best fit while being tradeable for picks and salary savings from the sender?

Sign Hartenstein, trade for both DFS and Cam Johnson using Isaiah Joe, Osumane Dieng, Kenrich Williams and a future pick. Draft Cody Williams as a long term gamble.

G - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander / Cason Wallace / Alex Caruso
G - Lou Dort / Alex Caruso / Aaron Wiggins
F - Jalen Williams / Lou Dort / Aaron Wiggins
F - Dorian Finney-Smith / Cam Johnson / Cody Williams
C - Chet Holmgren / Isaiah Hartenstein / Jaylin Williams

I don’t see the Nets even getting close to accepting that and I am not a fan of Cam Johnson.

How are they salary matching for cam and DFS after using up their capspace on hartenstein? Thats 15M outgoing and 38M incoming

Yeah so much wrong with that. Mostly that OKC doesn't need or want both. That's a better deal for the Nets who I don't think do turn that down if offered--can't realistically be. Get good value out of DFS and move off the money of Cam. Can't believe the talk was Brooklyn turns it down. OKC would turn it down. Not Brooklyn.

Might I suggest an upgrade to Jerami Grant?

Best Jerami in league history.

He's all yours, we already rostered Mr. Grant in the past. :D

Imo, sign Hartenstein, trade for Lauri.

Joe, Dieng, 12, a bunch of future 1sts, would be my goal.

DFS or CamJ are good logical candidates. DFS's ability to play small ball 5 part time is probably a better fit. A trade for one is simpler and makes more sense.

Kuzma or Wiggins could be interesting

I think JJJ would be the one i'd watch because OKC could throw a ton of picks at the Grizz

Would OKC be interested in Bobby Portis, Pat Connaughton and #23 for L.Dort, J.Williams & #12?

Lauri is the obvious answer if Utah is open to moving him. I kind of like the idea of trading for BroLo and playing Chet at power forward. Just completely deny the paint while maintaining spacing.

Why would it be a sign and trade? OKC can just sign him if they want him.

So OKC gives up the best player and the best pick? I'm going to go with no, they aren't interested in that much at all.

Can you explain how the value works?

I have Dort and #12 as the best 2 pieces here by a clear margin.

I’m assuming he means Jaylin Williams (JWill) the backup center not Jalen Williams (JDub) the future All Star.
