I removed Sarr and Risacher, two guys almost certain to be gone.

Three tiers for me.

Fine with:

Castle
Topic
Knecht
Holland
Cody Williams

Not fine with, but will cheer on:

Reed
Buz

Do not want, and, if selected, will dox their moms:

Clingan
Dilly

I voted for Holland. I know he has high bust potential, but he also has one of the highest ceilings in this draft class. If he's coachable and doesn't have any off the court red flags I think he's worth the gamble.

Going with the most sure thing, Clingan. But I almost picked Reed.

I voted Holland in this poll because I think he will be like Gerald Wallace 2.0 too bad I don’t think the Hornets will select him

I would also be excited to add Castle Cody or Topic

Happy with any of those 4

I'll be happy with pretty much any of Topic, Holland, Castle, Buzelis, or Sheppard.

Castle is my current top guy, but I sway back and forth by the day. After him it's Topic, then Clingan, and Holland/Sheppard if I have to go deeper than that.

Curious who the two people were that voted for buzelis, because I don't really hear anyone on this board making an argument for him over these other guys

I'm actually surprised by how many of you have Castle #1 on that list.

1. Sheppard
2. Buzelis
3. Holland (I've come around on him, but I won't be too excited because he will likely be Greensboro bound all year unless we tank)
4. Knecht
5. Castle

In order of my excitement with a drop off after Buzelis. Shep or Buz and I will be very excited about the upcoming season. I'll pull for anyone we draft though, Miller proved me wrong last year

I went with Reed.

I have 3 players on equal ground but that's expected in a flat draft.

Topic - prolific playmaker
Castle - prolific defender
Reed - prolific shooter

I don't have much faith LaMelo will ever become a POA defender, so I chose Castle.

I think all 3 of these players demonstrate at least some base where they can build skills on both ends of the floor. All 3 play with high IQ and feel.

Players I left off I don't feel confident can become winning players on both sides of the ball.

Clingan I value as a trade asset.

Sarr & Risacher will likely be off the board.

Jrue/White/Castle core & peripheral values:

1) POA defense requiring size, physicality and IQ
2) Connectors to top-2 scoring options. Good passers. High IQ boosts probability they can translate coaching schemes for team offense (ISO is dead).
3) Advance possessions by touching the paint, pressuring the rim. Drive and kick. Works in any offense.

4) Find ways to contribute when not scoring, by: rebounding, hustling for loose balls, committing smart fouls etc.

If Castle can be a Jrue Holiday type we got a steal in a draft most consider weak.

I'm liking this pick more and more.

I'd love to be wrong in back to back drafts if we take Castle. The projections for all of these prospects are seriously all over the place. Castle could be Jrue, he could be MKG, he could be Cody Martin, he could be Gerald Henderson, he could be his own elite prospect like Maxey or something if he develops a shot. Who knows lol. I think he's the most likely pick so I'm trying to talk myself into it.

Pass to MKG and you kill a possession because he's not a connector. He's a straight-line driver with severly limited skills as a playmaker/passer.

That's what made his dead 3 ball such a killer.

Castle is going to make his teammates better. MKG made them worse because we were playing 4-on-5, sometimes with Biz being one of the 4, so 3-on-5.

There is no way with his playmaking experience Caatle is going to take a wrecking ball to the offense like MKG did.

Cliff is gone too. So no burying potential prolific scorers like NSJ under MCW on account of size.

But I do think the key to Boston's run under Mazzula/Lee etc. was wing defense.

But they had playmaking all over the floor. Their offense is not reliant on isolation scoring. Tatum & Brown are the cherries on top of their winning recipe. Both those guys defend and make plays for teammates as well.
