I fully expect us to trade the 11th pick to unload Zach.

I don't understand the Sac thing, they don't have cap space. The entire reason we're trading Lavine is we need to duck the tax to pay Demar & Patrick $60M+. Philly & Utah make sense since they're cap space teams who will probably whiff on their prime FA targets (Paul George, Siakam, etc..).

I would tend to agree, unless the bulls are ready to move on from DeMar, and then maybe he becomes the way you clear space. I guess letting him walk does, too, but seems like bad asset management to me.

Have to find the S&T partner for DDR which makes it trickier, that being said most teams that wooulsd want DDR don't have capspace so that works in our favor, also likely don't have much to trade anyone would want but better than nothing.

giddey/white/williams/collins/vuc or giddey/white/huerter/barnes/vuc are not compelling lineups, per se, but they're a clear step in a new semi-coherent direction, at least, and it probably gets us to a pretty good draft pick next year. bonus points if you could swap out vuc for basically anyone else, ideally a young defense-oriented C.

Zach, let me introduce you to the City of Brotherly Love!

It’s been my belief all along that this notion that Zach isn’t a winner worth his contract is insane. It just depends on the team and the role. And to me the team that I have always said should be flat out targeting Zach is Philly. I love him playing the off ball third option in Philly. Makes them an instant contender.

You put Zach on a real contender as a third option, and he will single handedly explode to win you some playoff games here and there. He can be critical to a championship contender. I really believe that. It just has to be the right role.

To me Philly would be crazy not to want him as a priority get.

No way. No way AK is THAT bad. Surely he’d try to rehab Zach for a few months before giving up valuable assets to trade him. That would be beyond incompetence even for these guys. Won’t happen.

I actually believe that Jazz has some interest. I could see that they trade for him for little to nothing, up his value, and then flip him for actual assets.
Why so serious?

KC floating that since we can't attach Caruso to trade Zach we may have to include Ayo in his place.
He said he doesn't like the trade but really doesn't like this trade if that is the case.

We really needed another asset in the Caruso trade. Our coffers are still empty.

What would a 76er trade look like? They hardly have anyone on the roster?

It would be centered around the draft capital they acquired from trading Harden I'd imagine.

They get Zach, we get the smallest salary back they can send. We're not trading Lavine because he doesn't produce, we're trading him because we need that cap space to pay Derozan.

The return for a Lavine trade is the opportunity to pay Derozan $40M per year.

I’m telling you… what I read in between the lines from what is being reported by most (Crowley excepted) is that there is ZERO market for LaVine, and that AKME isn’t interested in attaching an asset to move him. Monk resigning reinforces that - likely taking one potential landing spot out of the running.

I think LaVine is not going anywhere in the short term. And, given the lux tax restrictions, not so sure DDR will end up coming back. Would have expected an announcement very quickly on that if he was.

For what’s it’s worth, KC said on the Bulls Talk Podcast tonight that he thought the Bulls would have to add an incentive for teams to take LaVine and wondered if they would trade Ayo to get rid of him.

**** that. I can accept trading Lavine at base value to dump him or even take a minimally negative asset, but I absolutely draw the line at adding one of our few positive assets. That’s insanity. I just can’t believe it would happen. It’s too crazy.

I also don’t believe Bulls need to add an asset to shed Lavine. Give me a break.

If so, AKME are just a really terrible FO.
