I have to imagine Isaiah joe is available. I suppose they could have him be the primary backup to Dort, and have Caruso play the 3, but it’s just more of a minutes squeeze.

SGA, Dort, Caruso, Wallace, Jalen

Joe would be one of the best shooters we’ve ever had.

One of my biggest draft crushes ever, behind Maxey, Mitchell and Bane.

I was just checking Portis for thybulle and Joe in the trade machine. Good stuff. Not sure Portland should get a first for thybulle, but I could see his price rise with Caruso off the board.

Do you have any draft crushes this year?

Maybe the MIA 1st is too rich, as it becomes unprotected in '26.

I did far more research in those covid draft classes, if I'm being honest. This year, it depends on the week. I really love what Shannon could bring, he creates transition opportunities and flourishes in them. That with Giannis could be magic. Just a 2-way gamer and I buy his shooting/creation. Love Devin Carter as well, really can't see a path to failure with him. I'm coming around on Dunn, but his offense is so far behind at this stage.

Vucevic is reportedly available. Assuming we are looking for a Brook replacement, I think he's the closest thing we can realistically get. He's 33, but we are in win-now mode. Averaged only 29.4% from 3 last season. Hopefully, a) his efficiency improves playing off the gravity of Giannis, b) we can have him on the cheap. Not sure how we would structure the deal. It may have to be a 3-way.

Would you guys do Portis, Connaughton, and #23 to OKC for Dort, (c) Jaylin Williams, & #12? Portis becomes the 4, they move Jalen Williams to the 3, Caruso plays the 2, SGA @ the 1, & Chet at the 5. Connaughton is a back up off the bench.

Getting Dort would help the defense big time. Jaylin would be a back up big for us, plus we move up 11 spots.

Yeah but i dont think Portis is worth Dort and the move up 11 spots. Could we make K williams and Dort for Portis and Pat? Remove the picks all together? Would that work salary wise. Maybe we even kick the tires on a future highly protected first since they have so many?

I do like the framework here however. Moving Portis or Lopez for Dort makes sense to me. Dort is low usage high impact perimeter defender at least by reputation. Hows his catch and shooting game? Is a real good defender or one of the many paper tigers, who lives on looking active while being ineffective.

I'm guessing Wiggins is the one that's available after he struggled to make shots in the playoffs.

I think he’s a solid player for someone else but don’t think he shoots it well enough to put any fear in teams if we park him where we have Brook previously and he’s obviously nowhere near the defender Brook is.

Thought he might have been a good fit for OKC in a Giddey swap instead of Caruso.

Don't see why OKC would move Dort just because they got Caruso, but if they were to, Brook for Dort and Isaiah Joe does make some sense.

That would be awesome. Joe is like if-Beasley-defended.

If the Bucks move on from Brook its way important to replace his interior defense defense and rim protection than floor stretching. Zero interest in Vuc, would rather try to find our Lively in the draft.

OKC may be prioritizing shorter term deals.

Bobby and Brook are both up next offseason. So is Capela. Hartenstein may want a longer term deal. Jarrett Allen is signed until 2026.

No matter who the Thunder acquires this offseason, it should try to make the contract as short as possible, even if it requires more of a cap hit during it.

In the next few years, the entirety of Oklahoma City's core is going to need to be extended. In 2025 Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Ousmane Dieng and Jaylin Williams will be seeking their next contract, while in 2026 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cason Wallace, Luguentz Dort and Kenrich Williams will be seeking theirs.

I get that the other guards/wings like Wiggins would become available before Joe, but there’s still going to be a minutes crunch for him. He’s going to struggle to get above 20 minutes per game, and he’s a better player than that.

Okc doesn’t have to be in a rush to decide really, because they have cap space and a little time before they’ll have to pay their best players, but also Joe is on his last year of his contract, and so is Caruso.

Will they want to pay both starter level money?

They could probably afford to through the 2026 season, but after that, I have to imagine they’d move one, since Jalen and Chet would both be due for max contracts.

I feel the core justification around here to keep Brook around is that Giannis doesn't want to deal with the physicality all season. Which is insane whether it's true or not, because Giannis is bar none the most physical player in the league. If that's the motivation, though, Goga can do that. Tony Bradley can do that. There are a ton of guys who will fight like hell for that spot.

I’m not against moving Brook & its not that Giannis can’t or won’t do it when need be so much as I just don’t want to put that kinda beating on him in RS games that don’t matter. I can’t imagine the Bucks move both Bobby & Brook so if its Brook I really don’t want another soft guy inside. Whatever works.

Isaiah Joe is a worse all around player than Grayson Allen, who people constantly said was unplayable in the playoffs. Why do people suddenly think Joe will be any better? Sure he’d be a great microwave scorer off the bench but his defense is nothing to hang your hat on. I’d still take a flyer on him in hopes the Giannis gravity effect can get him more open looks and he can be serviceable for 12-15 min per game in a playoff series. But it’s also important to remember he will be a RFA in 2025 so the Bucks will have to pony up to retain him.
