Good for the Kings and Monk gets to stay with Fox.

Increases the demand for Klay.

Philly sweating bullets in running out of options.

Siakam/PG/Lebron/Monk

Who's left for them Miles Bridges/KCP?

It's funny, I saw an interview with Elgin Baylor I think in the mid to late 70s talking about how the game has changed offensively in terms of pace and creativity and how people are getting paid way more money. Nothing ever changes, it seems.

But 19.5 is about 80th-90th best paid player with a lot of people who are going to get paid more. Seems extremely fair and will be a bargain if revenue/contracts continue to go up.

For fit on a team and maximizing his skillset, this is a fair contract. Grayson Allen's deal is pretty similar, too. Happy for both. Now the Mings need to do something about adding size and depth to their front court.

*It might not be totally ideal but it might be a decent landing spot for Kyle Kuzma.

That's a fair deal, i'm shocked he signed for market value in a dead FA class. That's essentially the contract White signed and Huerter signed, just a couple more mil per.

With the cap suppossedly going up, that was a nice grab for a player that just won 6MotY and improved across the board. He's just entering his prime, so this contract will cover the best of his career. If he can get back to shooting 40% from 3 he's going to be a real weapon again off the bench. His playmaking has improved a ton, he's not just a scorer any more, and is the type of guard you want to come in and get the offense going.

I like that the Kings have a core group they are running with, even if it all depends on Murray taking a considerable leap. This team desperately needs to find another defensive wing with size to pair with this group, and I hope this signing means the Kings are looking to make more moves. I could see Huerter getting moved, but if not, Kings have a very solid guard rotation with Fox, Monk, Mitchell, Huerter, and Ellis.

The cost for dumping Zach Lavine just went up. Congrats to Kings fans on likely dodging a bullet and resigning your guy.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

not bad if he can replicate last season, but if not could potentially be a bit of overpay.

4 years $78m is role player money in todays' NBA. Stars are getting upwards of $50m/yr, see Siakam contract as reference.
This is a good deal for the Kings.

:noway:

Don't we get tired of these responses every single time? Contracts have been like this for years. Get used to it.

Stars get paid twice as much as this by the way. It's not 2003 anymore.

As long as Monk remains a net positive rotational player and doesn't unexpectedly drop off, great deal for Kings. Couldn't afford to lose him. Hard to find a scoring, playmaking guard for that price as talented as Monk. Now Kings just gotta' figure out their forward situation.
