Caruso and Giddey share a lot of the same intangibles, unfortunately great hair isnt one of them.

Giddeys timidity under the playoff glare pretty much booked his ticket outta OKC.

Caruso got that dog in him. Looking forward to seeing how he fits.

Don't love Caruso but he's a good player and a good enough outside shooter to be a good fit while Giddey was a liability and wouldn't be able to develop without the ball in his hands. I think Giddey can have a good career but it was never going to happen in OKC.

Happy to read that he was coached by Mark and played for the Blue...hope we can extend him for a fair price.

I wanted us to add a scorer in the offseason but more depth with an elite defender is good too..now we need a good PF and we are good to go get that trophy.

My Mikal Bridges dreams are over but it was dead from the beginning

I still like Wiggins a lot but it doesn't make any sense to extend him anymore except if it's super cheap. He should be the loser of this trade.

fwiw, the thunder could trade for cam johnson (for example) with kenrich williams and ousmane dieng outgoing (for example), and still have enough cap to roll over into the season for a front loaded alex caruso extension.

i don't think this offseason is over.

i also think that lots of nba fans underrate alex caruso. he's like andre roberson with a 3pt shot. he is on another level from lu dort and cason wallace as a defensive player.

Ok, I actually like this trade a lot. I'm just a bit worried about Caruso being injury prone and the fact that he will be declining in the end of his next contract but he's a great fit and can't earn more than 4/79m which is pretty good. Having so many good defensive players that can shoot 3's is awesome too and Caruso is a better ball handler than Dort/Cason obviously. We have enough money for a good PF and a back up C which should be enough to win a title if we finally get some health luck.

Why do you think he can't earn more than 4/79M? Do you mean OKC can't extend him for more than that this season when he becomes extension eligible? If he hits UFA he could, theoretically, get a max contract.

Crazy that our team is such in a great position despite the fact that our first high pick in our rebuild was a bust (at least to us).

In this case the winner is Caruso because he is changing from a bad coach to a top coach, which isn't the case for Josh.

My concern is his health. I hope he will not struggle with injuries.

We are waiting for the next move. Probably bigger.

I think given the team depth they might rest him once a while and keep him fresh for the playoff abit.

alex caruso is a terrific fit to the mold of players the thunder needs to push harder for a championship.

we're a dynamic veteran forward away from a 10 srs team imo

so Presit wanted to keep Giddey...probably Josh did us a favor even if it was fine to keep him as a bench player

i appreciate honest players.

unfortunately for him, i don't think he is going to be super successful trying to run a team.

well Giddey going to another team is still his best shot to become a good NBA player, stay a while in the league and earn more money so it was kind of expected for him to want to leave despite the fact that he liked being in OKC.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
