We know Harden is an irrational actor, and that Morey is nuts... but this would take the cake. There's a better shot LeBron comes here than Harden comes back.

I would 1000% take Harden back at $30 million/year.

Really?

I'm in for the Ingram route as a fill-in this season, if we can't get significantely better this off-season. We have to get serious about having a team, ready to compete against Boston/OKC/Denver. There's the bar.

If you cannot get there, getting Ingram for 1 year and maybe adding a guy like KCP would be a step further, and than look at what players come available during season or go after other FA's (like Markannen?)

And draft well!

I only ask because if they're suddenly a package deal and we land BOTH then even Vegas would look like meth heads if they aren't considering us complete title favorites, regardless if after it's Oubre, Batum, Lowry, vet mins, etc.

Won’t have to worry about drafting if we get Ingram.

Big one off the board.

Sucks for Orlando.

Great deal for the Kings though. Thought Monk would get 100+

I'll take Harden at $30 mil over any of these $50 mil dinosaurs. We don't give up any assets, have plenty of room to build out, and we never got closer in the Embiid era, and that was with a complete moron 'coaching' the team.

I'm starting to feel better and better about Ingram though

+
Fits the timeline
Big upgrade as a #3 option over Tobias
Can handle the ball and is a good playmaker
Ending contract, so if it doesn't work out, you go further

-
Declined last year, bad play-offs (but can get a discount maybe)
Injuries?
Not a great 3-point shooter
Defensive rating not so well, but can maybe improve playing with Embiid
Needs the ball in his hands and being a #1 option to be effective?

Part of Hardens new contract is that he has to go to the club & hold up a sign that says “Daryl Morey is a truther”

Harden wouldn’t be coming back at 30M, though. It would be 50M. But there’s no shot. Not worth discussing.

LeBron is more realistic than Harden coming back.

30 million to harden
15-20 million to 1 of Toppin/JSmith
5-10 to one of Bey/Bol/hayward/Joe?

Morey visiting Harden’s office after he strikes out on every single big name free agent.

I don't disagree, but at 30 mil I'd be in with him. At 50 mil I'm not in with anyone.

If Morey is shortsighted enough to pay one of these guys upwards to 50 mil, we might as well just blow it up, because we aren't seriously contending with the roster we'd be able to piece together.
