I take back any time I wanted credit for being right about Tatum instead of Fultz. At least Markelle isn’t a complete nerd dweeb like Tatum is.

Do you think he practiced these lines with Drew Hanlen?

He's the most rehearsed, for sure.

He's probably as shocked as anyone they didn't give him the MVP just by rote.

All the Celtics win did for me was make me wonder (yet again) what things would be like if Simmons and Fultz turned out as expected.

I also feel like if we instead drafted Brown and Tatum they'd somehow combust in new creative ways.

Tatum would have been the Duke Tobias Harris I feared he was. Brown would not only not have a left, his right hand would fall off due to some random illness.

Nah, no Mazzulla slander. He's a legend.

Super genuine and introspective guy. Fascinating to listen to his process about using a clicker in lower leagues to track possessions and doing the math to share with his team to improve along the margins before he got to the NBA and had all of the resources at his disposal.

He's so routine and detailed, and quirky in a genuine and unforced way. Someone you'd run through cement walls for. He always places the onus on himself to be better.

The other day I saw a quote of Doc Rivers saying how the Philadelphia home crowd was why he couldn't perform consistently...

Sadly they know ball in that city and were getting onto you for valid reasons lol.

Agree on Mazzulla, but is there an excuse that even exists that Glenn hasn't used at some point in the last decade?

In a different era and on a different team, he’s more of a Rudy Gay. Celts just found the perfect way to build around him

He's more a Vince Carter than a Kobe.

Vince Carter was awesome but without the iconic dunking and aesthetic game, he wasn't all that great. He lacked the determination and killer instinct to take that leap.

Saying he's closer to a Rudy Gay is crazy lol. He gets killed for not being the typical top 5 star, but he's a top 10/15 player clearly.

Jason Tatum isn't in the same solar system as Kobe as a player.

Kobe is a top 10 all time player, and Tatum might not be top 10 in the game today.

Boston won a chip this year and was in the finals a few years ago so no accident here. Also no one said Tatum has to absolutely be the Man and number 1 best player to get it done. Jaylen and Tatum were both drafted at 3rd pick so they are equal on the totem pole and they work together. Chill with the hate tho. 76ers ain't achieved anything lol

Never sayed he's close to Kobe, as Vince Carter isn't neither.

He's on that tier of the Vince Carter's, Paul Pierce's and Ray Allen's.

He's not a generational superstar, but he's a great all star.

All those players i mentioned in that same tier also could have won a championship at their peak as the best player if someone built a stacked team around them like Boston this year (and aslo didn't face nearly any competition).

Vince Carter was more a case of untapped potential. Tatum is a workhorse grinder who just ultimately can quite reach MVP level.

He’s the spiritual successor to Kobe in that he’s a hardworking imitation artist. Problem is that he’s now a copy of a copy so he’s a diluted version of a great player.

Agree.

I'd throw T-Mac in a tier between the Kobe tier and the tier you mentioned (VC, Truth, Ray Allen).
