Let's roll. I'm down. I stand by JJ. Hire Rondo and Cassell as assistants and let's get this team better coached in 2025 than the last two years.

I mean, this is no worse than any other retread head coach. At least there’s a hope that we found a diamond in the rough.

The unknown makes this an intriguing hiring. I can't imagine it going any worse than the Ham experiment.

Honestly don't see coaches having much impact on the court. More annoyed that we are catering to a 40 year old lebron that will be leaving the franchise after this year.

I think lebron will stay for at least 2 or 3 more seasons.

Whole lot of "who cares".

Guy has no experience. Why should I be excited? Ham certainly wasn't great, so hopefully Reddick can do better than him. What a low bar though. And will it matter how good he is, if Lebron is out there doing what Lebron wants to do? And will Reddick sit Lebron if it comes to it? Of course not.....so weak-ass hire.

Hope Reddick does well. Would be nice to have a good coach, and to stop the 2-3 year carousel. But this is meaningless, and just tosses some crumbs to the Laker masses. This just ensures we're gonna try and run this beater of a team back out there. Everyone should be pissed. We're gonna get nothing for AD and Lebron.

If not upset now....you will be. See you then.

- It'll be Interesting If he becomes Brons Yes man OR not.
- Also hoping he uses Timeouts, challenges right times etc.
- Please play Max Christie some minutes

I like JJ as player and a person, but as a coach only time will tell.

Obviously he’s an unknown so not much to like or dislike, but since he’s liked by this current front office/exec team, lean towards bad hire by default.

I agree with most of what he is saying.
Everyone should consider the fact that some start somewhere.
Would the same apply to :
John Wooden
Tom Landry
Phil Jackson
Jerry West
Lou Holtz
Coach K

The opportunity is to succeed.
Or
You discover that you don’t.

Like someone stated earlier,

We shall see

I wish JJ the best.
I’ll be invested.

I watched the whole segment (about 20min) and Rick Bucher brought up several good points as well. But the one that sticks with me the most is this:

They interviewed/talked with JJ.......AND THEN tried to get Hurley. Btw....what I'm hearing is 4years, about 8mil a year. So considerably less of an offer than they gave Hurley. <------- So they can't play it off like "oh...we sat down with him, and realized this guy HAD IT. This guy was talking X's and O's at a completely different level."

Nope. You talked with him....saw greener pastures...that failed, so you went back to him. So we got a coach with zero experience...who's at best, a plan B. And your trying to win a title?

I see this a lot, but like what does this even mean?
What does being lebron’s “yes” man actually look like?

Is Lebron asking him to let him go take a vacation during the season? Lebron wants to show up late to practice every day?

Like what do people think Lebron is trying to force JJ to do if he’s indeed his “yes” man?

For me personally I can't speak for others, but for example; If Bron says call TO, Challenges, sub this guy In/Out basically calling all the plays on the floor and telling the coach what to do, while JJ just sits and says YES OK - I know Bron can be right from time to time etc but JJ Is the coach not HIM.

Is Lebron asking him to let him go take a vacation during the season? Lebron wants to show up late to practice every day?

Lol this cracked me up

Tired of retread HCs.

Not 100% sure what we got but he is a competitor, knowledgeable, outwork most, good with X/O, approved by team including Bron.

Just tired of watching hand-in-pocket guy going to wnba games and not focused and not in tune with our two top players. Glad that guy is no longer with LAL.

JJ sounds smart, competitive and really wants the coaching job. Let’s surround him with good vet assistants, good X/O guys and a good team.

FA and draft will be most important.
