He was drafted because his father is one of the biggest egomaniacs in human history. He is putting his son through the ringer to further feed his own ego. LeBron should be ashamed of what he is doing to his son but narcissists do not feel shame.
This whole thing has really affected how I look at LeBron, to the point where he's no longer my favorite player.
He has been trying to manipulate people into thinking Bronny is a great player for years, and it's such a transparent sham it's disgraceful. LeBron's level of lying and manipulation are so extreme that, I kid you not, I seriously considered whether the bronny heart problem was set up to be a built in excuse to justify shortcomings as a ballplayer his freshman year of college. I know that's insane, but that's just what I think about LeBron. Bronny signing a 4-year, $8 million guaranteed contract as a 6'1" wing who cannot shoot or dribble is honestly very shameful. It shows that the Lakers are kind of a joke and that LeBron is a master manipulator. He tries to act righteous and stuff, but Phil Jackson was right when he said Lebron and RICH Paul are a posse. It wouldn't surprise me if years later they find that what LeBron did with clutch constitutes a huge conflict of interest and takes away one of his championships. Rich people live in a very, very strange world. I remember watching clips of rappers at Bronny's AAU game and everyone was just following LeBron's lead overreacting to calls against Bronny. Super rich people like LeBron and like, Kevin Hart just have a bunch of Yes Men giving them positive reinforcements every day and it snowballs into something insane.
I would say that this isn't Bronny's fault, but he's actively opting into this ruse now. People tried to use the heart problem last summer as an excuse for his poor play at USC, but if you've watched Bronny over the years, you'd realize that had very little to do with it. The problem is that Bronny is simply not a talented prospect. Dating back to like summer 2018 or summer 2019, scouts would try to describe his game, and it was never about hard skills; he spent his entire high school career with a shaky jumper, a subpar handle and an inability to get by people and consistently score a lot of points in the half court when his team needed him to. That's why it was nothing out of the ordinary for Bronny to get 4 points, or 8 points, or 10 points even in huge playoff games. If Bronny seriously wanted to get better, he should've returned to college and gotten to the point where he could average like 12 ppg in college by his junior year. it's almost to the point where I actually think he's well aware of his lack of talent and is cashing in knowing he's not good enough so he can play with his dad.
This whole saga has been funny, but also very embarrassing for the integrity of things. Bronny buying in to all of this, the lakers giving him so much playing time besides shooting 24% from the field on good value, is spectacular. That awful level of play in conjunction with the $8 million contract make this whole thing feel like the most extreme parody you could imagine.
