Knicks Shopping Mitchell Robinson, Likely To Re-Sign Isaiah Hartenstein

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 21, 2024 4:48 pm

The New York Knicks have contact opposing teams about a potential Mitchell Robinson trade, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

Isaiah Hartenstein is a free agent this offseason and is now generally expected to re-sign with the Knicks. The Oklahoma City were rumored to have interest in Hartenstein, but they're more likely to pursue a reserve big man to support Chet Holmgren. Hartenstein would play an outsized role at a larger cap figure.

Robinson is represented by Thaddeus Foucher and Joe Smith. Robinson cannot become a free agent until 2026 after signing a four-year, $60 million deal in 2022.

Have a feeling it's gonna really cost them, something like $25m/year. (Though I guess that's really not that wild these days for a solid 5th starter.)

They cannot pay more than 4/$72.5M. So if he gets $25M per then it would be from Philly or OKC to be a backup C.

Nobody will pay Isaiah more than the max Knicks can offer. Anyone who offers more is foolish.

Mitchell Robinson trash? Yea no. He’s a run running defensive rebounding beast. He can’t stay healthy or hit free throws though I’ll give you that.
