Tobias Harris Has Interest From Mavericks, Pistons, Pelicans, Spurs, Jazz

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jun 22, 2024 1:09 pm

Free agent forward Tobias Harris is expected to leave the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason. Harris wants to move on, and Philadelphia is prioritizing opening up cap space.

The good news for Harris is that he's not expected to have any shortage of suitors in free agency. The Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz are all expected to have interest in signing Harris this summer.

The Pistons, Spurs and Jazz are all projected to have cap space in the offseason. The Mavs and Pelicans can both potentially offer the Mid-Level Exception to Harris.

Harris averaged 17.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Sixers last season. The soon-to-be 32-year-old forward also shot 48.7% from the field, including 35.3% on three-pointers.

Hes not a legit contending player.. doesn’t show up for big games. Streaky player. Not a big fan of hi game. Would give him the vet minimum, that’s about it

One of the most inconsistent players I've ever seen. Not sure why any team would sign him to a big contract.

He's incredibly consistent; what is inconsistent is his touches. Unfortunately, he is judged by his contract and not by his productivity. Lots of teams will want what he brings from night to night... 18/7/3. But you know what he averaged the season they offered him that contract? Yep, 18/8/3, and on slightly worse shooting splits. He has consistently been exactly what they paid him to be.

He is a solid 3rd option in a lot of categories.
61st in PPG
50th in REB
58th in STL
58th in FG%

He is a 7-8th option in 1 important category. He's 161st in USG%. He is an afterthought in their offense, essentially picking up scraps. He will look better in another location... and yes, on a more reasonable contract.

No joke, you just changed my take on a player in one post.

3/80 from the Spurs would make a lot of sense for both sides.
