he not as bad as frank but there's a lot of similarities. cant create own shot, shot 26.8% off the dribble, more of a wing than a pg, jump shot looks broken, meh athlete. but he plays defense. i dont really see the appeal in him to go top 10 even in a weak draft. i could be wrong about him he just screams meh imo

It’s why I picked Bub over him. To me offense is more important than elite defense.
If he can’t shoot off the dribble he will be buns.
Bub is elite off the dribble already at 18.
I like Castle as a prospect and hope he turns out good tho.

Not familiar with him but, I mean the stats are pretty impressive to say the least. 18.6ppg, 12.9rpg, 1.7bpg, 57%fg, 37%3pt (albeit on just 1.5 attempts per game). That's for a 6'7" skinny dude.
Akron is in the MAC which doesn't exactly have the greatest teams or the toughest competition is the thing. But still for a guy that's only 6'7" to grab near 13 rebounds a game is a good indicator that he's a relentless dog with very good feel for at least that end of the court.
He also does come off as quite intelligent in the draft combine interviews.
If you compare him to Ryan Dunn, for example and for arguments sake, they have similar builds and strengths, Dunn is much more fluid and explosive. Freeman may have a little more offensive shot creating potential but Dunn has Freeman beat by a mile in the defensive category (and Freeman is supposed to have defense as his bread and butter).
The basic stats would indicate that Freeman is much better than Dunn but that's grossly misleading as Freeman was clear and by far the best player on the Akron team. The rebounds also can be quite a bit misleading as despite being only 6'7" and 205lbs, Freeman was their defacto "big man".
Freeman himself said he believes he's a 4 in the NBA and that's kinda what he played at Akron. I'm not sure how well he'd translate to the NBA to be honest.
I would just take Dunn if I were the Knicks as Dunn is without question going to be able to translate his defense to the NBA. No question.
I was a fan of Herb Jones and he was the glue guy in Alabama even then. His first 2 years are nearly identical to Dunn, who only played 2 years. Jones didn't start shooting until his fourth year. But according to the eye test, I'd argue Dunn is the better defender, especially vertically. Dunn is also the better athlete and finisher than Jones. The only reason I soured on Dunn was because he was listed much bigger than what he measured even though he's exactly the same size as Jones. He might be the steal of the draft.
