2024 NBA Offseason: General Discussion/Hangout Thread (NBA News, Thoughts, "I Don't Know Where To Put This," etc.)

Hey good pals! The offseason is in full swing and I thought I'd make a General Discussion thread wherein y'all can share NBA headlines, thoughts, observations, etc. Basically NBA-related stuff that you want to talk about but are not sure where else to put it.

And hell, feel free to chat about other stuff. We're all famously good friends around here so tell us about your summer, your lunch, your cat, the TV show you just watched, etc. Just do the mods a favor and keep it light... no politics/race/sexism/insults/controversy please!

I'll start! I have observed that my Boston Celtics are 2024 NBA Champions! Pretty cool imo.

Congratulations on the Celtics. I believe we are looking at a dynasty. My team (Thunder) is trying to emulate you guys. We already have our Derrick White (Caruso); we have our Jaylen (JDub); we will use Dort (defense) and Shai (offense) to counter Tatum; we will put Chet on Pozingis, and Shai will guard Jrue. That is going to be a good series if we ever meet in the finals. Ofc you guys are much better than us, so I'm hoping we get another big piece.

Btw, Late Night with the Devil is a really good movie.

I struggled a bit trying to express my vision for this thread but I was thinking/hoping it would be mainly NBA related. A place to share the more minor NBA headlines etc that are of interest but perhaps don't require a separate thread.

And then I thought of the game threads throughout the season and remembered people were talking about food and TV and just chatting with their RGM pals. So I just wanted to say doing stuff like that in this thread is fine as well.

And if no one is using the thread I'll just un-sticky it.

You should hold off on unsticking it and see if it catches on. It's a good idea because it'll help with lowering the amount of new topics that pops up when someone gets a new idea. They can just post in here and ask their questions.

We sit on chairs forming a circle and dribble a basketball with our dominant hand on the side, while giving each other pop quizzes challenging our knowledge of basketball.

I'd like the Pels to make a move and break up the Zion/BI/CJ big three. The chemistry just isn't there IMO and the starting 5 needs another high level defensive player.

I need to see how Memphis fills the glaring hole at the 5 spot. I still have no idea what they're fixing to do with it. Their move determines where I rank them in the West with a healthy squad. Sacramento is similar if they can add some size and athleticism to the frontcourt.

On a personal note, as of last week all sixteen of my novels have been purchased by libraries in some part of the country (this includes, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand).

1. YA space opera/sci-fi action-adventure 9-book series (completed)
2. Action Thrillers (five individual stories)
3. Romantic Comedy (two individual stories) - emphasis on the comedy

USA Basketball will commence training camp on July 6 in Las Vegas. Following the game vs. Canada, the Americans will embark on an international training window that begins when the USA hosts Australia and Serbia on July 15 and 17, respectively, at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. If you guys are shopping Zion and want to rebuild. We will gladly take him. We've got nine 1st and eighteen 2nds. Shai, Dort, JDub, and Chet are off limits, but you can have anybody along with three 1st rounders.

A line up of Shai, JDub, Dort, Zion, and Chet is unbeatable.
