Trading for Paul George feels like an Isiah move.

It kinda does except we are trying to build off a 50 win contender and all his teams were ass. We as fans are not used to being in this position, having a relatively young contending team with assets to spare, looking to make a move to legit put us over the top. It’s not like adding PG to some 17 win team trying to desperately save the franchise and bring it from the lottery to relevance

The things I have in the given box:
Mitch/Precious/Sims
Randle/Bojan
OG/Hart
DDV/McBride
Brunson/Rokas

I don't think we let OG walk, I think we want iHart over Mitch (durability) but things have to break a certain way for that to be possible.

In terms of filling needs having players with size who can also be scorers is essential. I take Burks for the vet min for granted, and then you look at the back end roster players we had (Jeffries etc) and you know Archi is being signed. That's a lot of players in that 6'4" ish range. I don't really place much value on adding another 3-D guard since I feel like we can pick those up and develop them fairly easily.

There is a big difference of a trade of Julius Randle, Mitch, one of our 24 1st rd picks and potentially a pick or 2 from another team for PG and trading multiple, future unprotected picks for PG.

Even with his age and injury history, it would be hard to pass on the opportunity to team PG and Brunson if the cost was reasonable. Sure, I'd rather have Durant, but PG is still a top 12-15 player in the league and it's hard to team multiple top 12-15 guys together.

He just extended with them like 8 months ago and is an efficient hub of their offense - there's no rational reason to move him for a chronically injured, defensive specialist center.

This is Washington… the franchise that gave away Gafford and KP, and traded for Poole and Kuzma to be their 1a and 1b guys… not to mention the Wall and Beal era of super maxes. Why can’t we take advantage of them like others have?

Maybe they draft Sarr and maybe Sarr’s agent told them to get a big center he can play next to as he seems to want to play PF to start out. Maybe Washington also wants their pick back. Who knows.
