Harris is the worse type of veteran the Spurs could pick up. Non-interested at times and unlikely to be a suitable role model for the youngsters. I would prefer Chris Paul as even though I dislike him with a passion, no one ever called him uninterested.

Had no interest in his prime.

These Harris rumors has to be Philly trying to inflate his value.

Philly want BI & it looks like they trying to get NO's to take Harris. I think if they did that, I'd look to follow a smarter team.

Agreed if NO does that. They are basically the same player making roughly the same amount of money only Ingram is like 6 years younger.

If NO trades Harris for Ingram, their front office should be fired the same day.

Has the body for a prototypical 3&D with not as good as Risacher 3 nor D.

Struggled with efficiency in GLI but was better year before. Which is the anomaly?

Dropped in draft standings because of the GLI year. Holland did, too. So either teams will look at that as context that shows it was an exception or that they could not get it done vs. higher competition.

I also haven't paid much attention to this now defunct GLI team nor to its draft prospects. The development hasn't really panned out for guys going that route. Maybe that's more an indictment on the team that failed the players, maybe they just got exposed, maybe a bit of both.

This is where scouting departments earn their pay.

We've certainly seen and worked out the lot of guards and forwards for all our draft spots. Draft night will be exciting.

I can understand that. IMO Euro players who are thrown into the G-League are at a disadvantage. They play their entire lives to win games and to get thrown into that setting where no one actually cares about winning or trying to win they look out of place.
They are still trying to play a team game and win and everyone else is just trying to get attention for themselves. Its awkward.

and San Antonio was able to book Clingan for a Zoom meeting this past weekend, sources said.

But after his interview with the Spurs, Clingan seemed intrigued by the option. “It was good to be able to get to know [San Antonio] more and show them who I am as a person and get them to learn a little bit more about me,” Clingan said. “And I feel like the me and the Wemby connection is something that could really work out. I’m just excited for tomorrow night.”

Ok so final selections/favourite choices are making the rounds.

I think Castle is pretty well slotted in at 4 and I'm good with that. Dynamic experienced two way player with lots of room to grow.

Will be interesting should Risacher drop to 4. Castle or Risacher?

Do not agree with trading both picks to move up to 1 for whomever.

If Sarr or Risacher drops to 2, can we make a deal with Washington for Avdia if Risacher is off the board?

At 8 I figure Salaun. Raw but assertive, high upside. If we pick him, have to think there may end up.being too much overlap between him and Sochan unless one of them slots in at 3 eventually.

If we go Castle/Salaun we get upgrade in overall talent, we get bigger and stronger, we get better defensively, we address the 1 well with how Castle can run a team, but we do nothing to address our shooting woes.

Because of that, I can see us going Knecht/Carter/Dilly at 8. Williams is intriguing from a 3&D profile and that he's further along than his brother was at this stage. Buzelis fits a 3 need but we'd have to buy in to shooting improvement.

Take the most complete player and the highest upside, address the specific skill need in other ways.

GO SPURS GO!!!

Sup Spurs fans how we feeling tonight, what are we doing? Especially in a weak draft why not take the most dependable prospect in the class, and pair 7-4 Wemby with 7-2 Clingan? I’m a Bulls fan but this is my draft wish.

Hey! fyi I moved your post to our Draft Thread. You're the second visitor we've had coming by suggesting it. We recently zoom interviewed DC. Wemby is our 5 but I'm not sure he wants to stay there. Ok so let's say we get a 5 alongside him. DC is HUGE and a great rim protector, has shot the 3 in the gym, but is woeful from the FT line.

I think if we do draft him it is for the purpose of trading him to a team that is in love with him. I think he's a terrific character with a great story, but we need someone who is more 4/5 switchable, not more of a Poeltl 5 only guy that high in the draft. we have other glaring needs that need addressing before the bigs situation gets more settled, and there are other players we can take later to fill those spots.

Prediction: if we draft him it's to trade him for another player we like and to get additional assets.

First pick tells me Atlanta is keeping Young and might be stuck with Murray.
