I don’t think Dadiet lasts until 30 right now. He did workout twice for Miami though, so they must have saw something they liked. I’d definitely take him there though.

Or they could be blowing smoke. But I do pay attention to players that certain teams workout.

The power rankings of the scouting department of NBA teams are partially decided by how well they can recognize talent in undrafted free agency.

Here's the second slate of candidates who can become the next Ricky Council IV or Orlando Robinson. Considering how quick NBA teams are in signing players to Exhibit 10 or two-way contracts right after draft night.

Make sure you're well-accustomed to the prospects in question!

Kyle Filipowski, the 7 foot, high IQ, 2-way Duke center who can playmake and shoot it from 3, could serve as an intriguing Al Horford replacement...

He is projected at the back end of the draft, but in the 1st round, so Celtics would have to trade up to make sure to get him; something made easier by the flat nature of this draft class...

He could drop down draft boards, because of his double hip surgery that he had after his 1st year; unlike Rob Williams, that injury doesn't seem to be a long term condition, though.

He needs a little more development strength wise, but he could work to develop that, until Hordford decides to call it a career, and then step in seemlessly.

Forget about undrafted players.

There will be a player selected 31-50 in this draft who has a better NBA career than eight out of the first ten players selected.

Then hopefully a guy -- Adem Bona? -- at 55 for front court depth.

The team already has a championship caliber rotation and needs to get those extensions done. Then there's Tillman, Brissett, Kornet -- probably keep two. Then there's development of Queta, Springer, Walsh and possibly Davison.

And I expect there will be one move to bring another vet in after the extensions are done, maybe before camp.

So I doubt there is going to be minutes for a rookie. More likely that the Maine guys from last year will graduate and we'll have the new picki move nto 2-Way. At least, that seems to be Brad's MO for developing players.

I'm starting to lean this way as well if nobody falls. Not a big Djurisic guy since he can't shoot or defend yet (tho he could always develop), but the other 2 or Flowers seem 30-worthy. Would be great if they would stash at least a year.

That or move down and take a couple 2-way fliers.
I'm still on board with trading up if we find THE guy, it's just always been the least likely scenario.

On the other end of the spectrum, Brissett gone does open up a spot for a Mogbo or Freeman type. Walsh probably gets first shot at the minutes, but he's more of a 2-3 to me for now since he's so skinny. All we have at 4-5 type is X if he comes back.

Well, and X's older doppelganger, but you know what I mean.

Any Cam Spencer supporters? On paper, I feel like he is this year's Austin Reeves. Going back to his freshman year, 2019, he has been a highly consistent shooter with a great A/TO ratio. Two seasons in Division 1 over 2 steals versus ~2.5 fouls per 40; it potentially contradicts a seemingly popular notion that he isn't athletic or agile enough to survive on defense in the NBA.

I like the name. Little fun doesn’t hurt. I’m up there and it’s a shame because, how? I don’t remember posting that much about the draft!

Flipowski seemed to have fallen the most this draft. Gotta be a reason for that.

I wonder why too. I do think he can be some version of Sabonis with a better three point shot.

Does Arvydas have another son because I can't see that happening? Sabonis is not a good defender but he makes it up on by being a dog on the glass.

Looking back over the years its sort of surprising how many decent players have come in the late second early first round range. Sticking to 26-36 range you have:

2016:
Siakam (27), Murray (29), Zubac (32), Brogdon (36)
2017:
Kuzma (27), White (29), Hart (30),
2018:
R Williams (27), Brunson (33), Robinson (36)
2019:
Poole (28), K Johnson (29), K Porter(30), Claxton (31),
2020:
Pritchard (26), McDaniels (28), Bane (30), Tillman(35)
2021:
Thomas (27), Sharpe (29), Aldama (30), H Jones (35)
2022:
Jovic (27), Watson (30), Nembhard(310, J Williams (34)

Seems like every year about 3-4 guys get drafted in this range and become rotation level guys eventually, hopefully the c's find one this year.
