I'm kind of excited for the DKC remake, but I know it's going to be a $60 or $70 game and it's going to be forever and a day before it goes on sale. And I just can't justify it. I'm plenty happy replaying the original (which I usually do yearly).

If they remake DKC2 like this, though? Day 1. My GOAT platformer.

ETA: Nevermind  I didn't realize this was a remake of a Wii game, not the original. That's both more and less exciting to me.

If you haven't played Donkey Kong Country Returns originally for the Wii, this is a must buy. Incredible throwback to the Country games.

I like the look of the new Mario RPG as well. Cool that they gave Zelda a game but the gameplay looks like it's probably not really for me.

I'm off today and tomorrow. Did some grocery shopping, picked up a bit, had a nice lunch.

Sat down to do some pre-Erdtree farming. Remembered the New Zealand trick and installed the update.

Currently playing Erdtree a day early

That big fire bastard? It didn't appear that I did a lick of damage against him so after dying twice I just decided to run for it and come back later. Have had a couple instances like that.

Then I beat

Spoiler:
Rennala's little sister

on the second try so :dontknow:

Starting to feel like my second play through of Erdtree is where I'll be experimenting with new builds. So far there hasn't been much of a reason to change up anything from what I started with. I haven't used a single new item so far. That said, I've only beaten I think four of the ten Rememberance bosses.

Did just gain the ability to punch a dragon in the face, though. That's gonna be cool.

I've somehow only ever played the original Metroid on NES. Had that game as a 6 or 7 year old. Wild.

The DLC drops smithing stones like candy so I've been switching it up quite a bit.

Unlocked all of the Erdtree map but haven't done much to explore it. I watched a video with all the new weapons and realized I have maybe five of them.

Some of those weapon arts look like a blast. You can tell they paid a ton of attention there.

A lot of builds require the Shard of Alexander, and I've never done his quest before. So tonight that's what I've been working towards. Absolutely blown through Volcano Manor, The Mountaintops of the Giants, and everything that Capital has to offer before burning the Erdtree. I've never used the Bolt of Gransax but now I have two of them and I'm contemplating a build with both.

Been playing Shadow of the Erdtree, haven’t made a ton of progress yet but

Spoiler:
My god the backhand blade is nasty. When you two hand it, it turns into twin blades. Fast as hell and hits hard too when fully upgraded. The ash of war for it is Blind Spot, which makes it even nastier. It barely costs any FP and lets you damn near teleport right behind the enemy. Made it Occult affinity so it scales with my Arcane build. With this build and actually getting the scadutree upgrades, I’m doing so much better. Was getting dusted by basically everything that moved when I first started lol.

Just beat Rellana, who was super tough. If there are supposedly several bosses that are much tougher I’m in trouble lol.

Downloaded GTA V since I have the house to myself this weekend fighting norovirus. When I can play between potty breaks, man I forgot how much I loved this game.

I switched up my build and respected. Not sure how much I like it, but it's different.

Dual Great Katanas (Rakshasa +10 and Quality Great Katata +25). It's special attack is Rivers of Blood-eque, and I can just keep swinging as long as I've got FP. Looking forward to doing some boss hunting.

Messmer didn't disappoint. Took me eight or nine times, a few that was so close I could have breathed on him and he would have died.
