How about this….

2nd round picks are undervalued because they are overpriced. What if all the 2nd rd picks were
All half-off the current value? Everyone would value 2nds more, as opposed to just trying to give them away to stay under the cap.

Idk… draft capital around her feels weak compared to the real NBA. You have to draft a star or SEVERELY SEVERELY overpay for a star under 33

like with anything...all 1sts aren't treated the same (he's got some potentially valuable ones). Also my 3 straight chips wouldn't have started without (as Cap would say) the potpourri of 1sts I had in the 4th season. I was able to really make the most of that draft capital moving around that draft and picking up players.

also the draft class matters. What top tier talent is available.

Technically, I refer to it as the Night of Infinite Lonnie Walkers.

But this year is definitely an extreme case. A few of us are avoiding the draft like the plague. Not that there aren't good players in it but given my time to scout and lack of strong hierarchy I would definitely have to be very lucky not to pick a bad one.

All trades have now been updated. There are still a few more transactions that will get posted tomorrow as well as posting draft picks to team pages. I'll be up for another hour or so and will post Smash's pick if he does somehow get online to make it. Otherwise, we'll be back at it tomorrow.

The 15 person roster crunch is a punishment to guys collecting draft picks. Kinda bull honestly. Especially when we are FORCED to keep our 2nd rounders, UNLIKE the real NBA

I agree the roster should be expanded. It is an unintended punishment.

To take a stance, I've long been in favor of adding two two-way slots with the only downside being that it can't add a huge layer to Bish's work.

Still looking for a cheap defensive type of center other than that I’m pretty much done and waiting on free agency to fill out the rest..

Feel free to hit me with any offers

There's a way for it to be pretty non-invasive, I feel like. In terms of how call-ups or whatever. Just using it to stash two players would be amazing lol.

I think having it so you don't HAVE to sign your 2nd rounders but have to before the season starts like the NBA after evaluating from summer league makes sense. Either that or half the 2nd rounder salaries like another poster suggested

I watched him in the play-offs for the first time this year..Loved what I saw...And I like that he roughed up Butler too
Appreciate it Soul- I dont think I ever got a player I liked for free bro...$1 and bird rights -cant go wrong with that...

Pelicans Expected To Lose Naji Marshall In Free Agency, Per New Report
New Orleans expects to lose a locker room and fan favorite this summer.

New Orleans, LA - Naji Marshall went from an undrafted rookie in 2020 to a crowd favorite for the New Orleans Pelicans in a few short years. Marshall is now an unrestricted free agent and a new report suggests the Pelicans are prepared to lose him in free agency. Evan Sidery, who covers the NBA for Forbes Sports, revealed that Marshall's market will include a few teams willing to sign him to a deal this offseason.

Teams like the Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, and San Antonio Spurs have cap space to sign Marshall this summer. The 26-year-old forward averaged 7.1 points in 66 games last season for the Pelicans. Marshall averaged over 21 minutes per game the past two seasons, becoming a key rotational piece of Willie Green's bench. Coach Green famously dubbed Marshall a 'knife' because of his hard work and versatility.

"Naji is one of our guys who has earned everything he's gotten," Coach Green told reporters after an overtime win against the Suns. "From the start of summer league until now, Naji's been working and doing a great job." What Marshall will earn this summer is a nice payday. He earned a base salary of about $1.9 million last season. Naji could earn somewhere between $5-$8 million a season under his new deal.

Marshall relayed how "blessed" he felt to be in the league after going undrafted. After the Pelicans' first-round exit to the Oklahoma City Thunder, he told reporters that he doesn't take anything for granted. "None of this was guaranteed. Just to be here after going undrafted......to playing in the playoffs, making shots, and guarding the best players is an unbelievable blessing that I'm extremely thankful for", Marshall revealed.

With only 15 rosters spots & guaranteed money for 2nds… vets know 2nds have zero value

Negative value for an “ASSET” makes zero sense

There's one issue with this whole 2nd rounder debate, if they do get changed and 2nd rounders are suddenly valuable, people who have a ton(myself kinda included) are at an advantage. And people who traded them away traded them at the time thinking they were a negative value, etc

But I do see the issue with them being a negative asset and kinda useless. I think the best solution would be to cut the salaries of 2nd rounders in half and/or allow them to not be signed like they are non guaranteed irl contracts too.

Hoping to move into the first round with pick 31. Let me know what I can do! Would also consider early 2nds if someone falls that I like

Most guys on my squad on the block. Not taking offers for Suggs right now.
