The WNBA has EVERYONE talking about Reese/Clark. Rookies are bringing eyeballs to the game. I love it. There’s so many talented hoopers out there that us new fans are getting exposed to.

(Reese & Clark should have been on Team USA).

This should have been done already tbh unless they had logistical issues with using the United Center. CC is right.

Re: Angel, sometimes I think that too, because she isn't some bad guy villain at all, she's embracing it for the sake of entertainment and to help drive interest, but I'd rather she just play her game and at the end her and CC dap each other up and say good game.

Angel gets it though. She wants this thing to grow. It's not about her right now it's about the little girls watching her that will end up playing in a bigger, more financially secruee WNBA 15-20 years now.

I didn’t like the can’t see me thing, kinda my introduction. The whole “disrespecting some mutual opponent makes me mad” just seemed like a completely bizarre and weird motivation that never made any sense. What? Felt completely random. I can however look back and easily dismiss it coming from a young person. Plus my favorite player of all time was basically a psychopath with manufactured motivations.

I also definitely didn’t like the clapping over the infamous CC on CC foul. Hopefully we don’t see the likes of that from Angel again.

But otherwise, I’ve just become a fan of her on court relentlessness and tenacity. Plus I certainly embrace when a player is willing to have a voice and personality, as long as they don’t go Kyrie.

Anyway. Sorry, young lady. You’re no villain. Your play is too likable, and fans end up liking someone who plays with a hardhat. Fan of both Angel, and CC. Their competitive rivalry is obviously good for the game, and hope we get many years of it.

I said on the Bulls board that she was starting to have a Joakim Noah feel. Just playing her ass off on the court, and completely unafraid of speaking her mind. It sure is a nice comp given Jo is undoubtedly one of the most beloved Bulls of all time.

Hey no doubt I agree. I did want to provide some context about the whole "you can't see me" thing that happened when they were in college. It started actually when Clark and Hailey Van Lith were talking trash to each other:

Van Lith and Clark are actually friends. Angel did it as a follow up to it, but the thing people need to realize is that none of this is personal. Angel especially is playing it up to drive interest and she talks trash but it's not serious as fans take it to be.

Even today when the ref approached Reese and NaLyssa Smith about their at times heated talk, they both waved the ref away because it was just them going at it in game, it wasn't anything crazy, they're both fellow Kim Mulkey students.

There are players in the W with legit beef but that's more with the older players. The young players kinda remind me of how NBA players are now, everyone is pretty much chill with each other.

I’ll never believe it’s not personal for Reese. Fan of Angel, but the way she jumped out of her seat and cheered when Carter committed that flagrant, that’s a natural reaction of someone that has a personal grudge against someone.

Yeah, that one is pretty hard to explain away. Honestly, this is smart of Reese, and the Sky. Clark is bringing in all these new eyes and all this new money into the league. Reese and the Sky are smart to push this idea that there is a rivalry there, because then they get in on the money. Clark has been being professional and not pushing any rivalry between the two, but that's not what Reese and the Sky want. If they can push the idea that this is like a Bird/Magic situation, that puts them into the conversation. And while I don't agree with what they're doing, I can't deny that it is smart.

I also can't deny that Reese had a helluva game against the Fever Sunday, although Sides called a very questionable game to allow the Sky to come back IMO. The Fever should have had that game won.

I can understand that, me personally I just don't see it as being that serious. Does Reese use these games as motivation? Absolutely, she's a competitor, someone can look at her funny and she's gonna use that to make her play harder.

But man....Reese spewed more sh*t talk and cussing towards NaLyssa Smith in one game than I've ever seen her direct at CC

When I think about real beef, I think about Skylar Diggins-Smith vs Diana Taurasi and the Mercury, or Dearica Hamby vs pretty much all of the Aces. Now that right there is personal.

Angel and CC? Not so much. It's more for the media imo, I think both of them understand how much their games mean to the sport so they let it ride.

I predict years from now, Angel and CC will be like Larry and Magic. Yeah they used to get it in, but off the court it was never that serious to where there was actual hatred like there was towards Isiah and the Pistons.

I disagree somewhat, CC is in on this as much as Angel is. Clark was calling for the league to switch the venue to the United Center. She is well aware that the her vs Angel stuff sells. Both women have shown to be cognizant of the fact that their "rivalry" is good for the sport.

Regarding the game, i gotta credit Coach 'spoon and the Sky defense. They were not giving Indiana an inch in that 4th. I found Sides' decision not to run PnR for CC/AB, or call some off ball screen action to free CC up, to be really bad, but man....that interior was shut down for the final 5 mins of that game by Reese and Cardoso.

The Sky are probably going to get their asses beat tbh. The Twin Towers and Chennedy are legit, but the rest of their guard and wing play is dreadful.

Indiana is not a good defensive team so they couldn't stop the Twin Towers when things got real. Wilson and Stokes are another story entirely.

I hope Mabrey gets back on track soon. But an ass-beating is definitely what I'm expecting. I'm just wondering if they can do anything at all.

This. Reece's bitterness and flagrant, petty jealousy of CC has left an ugly stain that doesn't wipe away easily.

She is just another example of someone (men and women) that wants desperately to be viewed as bigger than the game.

The irony is CC, with her unmatched meteoric impact on women's sports, has/will continue to have more impact on Reece's future earnings than she does by her own play.

The Lynx franchise, and Cheryl Reeves who might be the most respected member of WNBA history, passed on Reece. Character does still matter when it comes to winning and unfortunately for Reese, she cares more about promoting herself than the sport.

Hate expressed through jealousy is very, very ugly and Angel has nobody to blame but herself for how a large portion of the fan base perceives her.

I wouldn't take a loud, vocal minority of Clark supporters who hate Reese for reasons other than basketball as indicative of the entire WNBA fanbase.

The rest is your opinion, but I disagree with it entirely. If you heard what Reese said yesterday in the post game after the Sky beat Indiana cleanly, you would realize she doesn't put herself before the sport or her team.

Reese is putting up historic numbers, so the only one who was hurt by passing on Reese are the teams who passed on her. She is legit, you're not racking up double doubles like this in the pros by sheer dumb luck. She outworks everyone else around her and people can't stand it. Makes me support her even more

They combined for 41 points, and every single one of them came from inside or from the FT line. The Fever outscored them by 27 from 3 and still lost. Can you imagine that happening in the NBA today? So, on Thursday it's gonna be a 90's NBA team against a 2024 NBA team, lol.

(Thanks for posting your response in the proper thread, sorry)

Nah I figured you meant to post it here, no worries  I am hoping that the Sky can hang in there, but the Aces are the Aces.

Mabrey has not been good at all. Carter is a good two way player but it's just not enough.

With Gray back, I am kinda scared of the Aces now.

This is a load of garbage and you nit picking just to have issues on Reese.

Where is your proof of jealousy other than your own beliefs.

You sound like the typical CC fan that tries to blanket black women of WNBA that they are jealous of CC.

Other than your own beliefs, prove she is jealous.

I like how you try to imply that Reese was passed on due to issues not related to baksetball when you have no proof of that.

Why not mention the other teams who passed on her to. Show me their reasoning.

She is respected and she passed on Reese because of her “behavior”

You’re implying a bunch of nonsense with no evidence.

All this sounds like to me is a person who wants to prop up CC at the expense of Reese.

Sound like the typical cat who sees Angel getting nothing but Love here, and want to bring up petty nonsense to simply knock her down.
