Shouldn’t Devin Carter be ranked way higher than Stephon Castle?

Re: 2023-2024 College Basketball / NBA Draft
If Filipowski was closer to an 80% ft shooter (and also didn't decline from the line between this year and last) I think I'd be a tad bit more intrigued in him as a prospect. He's shown his versatility playing alongside Lively last year and then this year anchoring the defense.
His wingspan is another flag but his fluidity for a 7 footer in terms of how he both moves in space or puts the ball on the floor on is wildly intriguing. Improved big time as a shotblocker between this year and last and his assist numbers for a big are positive.
This clip appeared as I was focused on something else and from my peripheral I swore that was Luka Doncic.
Could be an Aldama/Olynyk if things go right. Think he fits quite well along Embiid if the jumper translates as well.
As of now I'm varying levels of receptive to any of:
Carter/McCain/Carrington/Tyson/Holmes/Filipowski/da Silva/Collier/Saluan.

I think Edey wont be a starter in the league, i still think he cant defend away the basket, and he is slow and robotic.

He seems like he falls into the same category like Marvin Bagley, Wiseman and Evan Mobley to me.
I agree on Sarr. He just reeks of 'bust' potential, a tweener without any one part of his game dominant enough to justify a lottery pick. The three you named are excellent cautionary examples.
Doesn't it seem like it's almost always a mismanaged perennial loser like Atlanta that ends up picking a kid like this way too high? If they can't trade down and are insistent on not tanking, their pick should be someone who can step right in and fit this group from day one. Like maybe Edey.

Re: 2023-2024 College Basketball / NBA Draft
Sarr is all theoretical atm.
He can shoot..in theory
He can guard on the perimeter....in theory.
He can protect the rim...in theory
He has some offensive upside... in theory
He is rather similar to Evan Mobley...in theory... But Mobley's offense has not developed and he is kinda a weird tweener big too...and he still had shown more than Sarr did at the same time.
BUT as always, GMs don't want to be the guy who passes on the theoretical guy Sarr "could" be. Ironically Risacher is like the wing version of this too. And Salaun the forward version. I think I just hate France lol but no seriously, there are a ton of guys like that in this draft (Buzelis and Holland so I can't be accused of being unfair lol). You are drafting many of these dudes for what they COULD be and this year I think that COULD is doing a lot of heavy lifting lol. I am super glad we are in take whoever is available status because if you have a top 5 pick...hell top 10, you are playing GM Russian Roulette this year. I could see this draft surprising people or being the woat very easily

I actually like the idea of Edey with the Hawks.
The Hawks could give a Trae-Edey two-man game-centric team a shot. However, ideally, it would be better if they could trade Trae and let Dejounte run the offense with Edey. This would force the defense to pick their poison, which I’d expect would lead to Dejounte becoming a more efficient scorer.
Dejounte can lead the offense when the defense plays vanilla with a lot of drop defense. Then, the Hawks can drop the ball to Edey if the defense gets serious with a lot of switching. The Hawks can then take their chances with their opponents shooting mid-range jumpers, with Dejounte or one of their wings flying in to contest and Edey’s almost 10-foot standing reach providing additional defense. On the offensive end, the Hawks can either dump the ball to Edey in the post, where he is likely to have a high points-per-possession, or find an open perimeter shot.
The Hawks have Hunter, JJ, and could even let Okongwu play some 4 if they opt to play big. The draft board says the Hawks are training Okongwu to play some 4, with him shooting 3s, which is why they’re okay with Okongwu playing with Sarr.
If Okongwu doesn’t work out, then maybe just insert whoever they can get in return for Trae. Maybe Ingram, perhaps?
Dejounte
Ingram
Hunter
Jalen Johnson
Edey
That lineup would have enough length to reduce the need for Edey to be overly active on defense, allowing him to focus on providing elite rebounding and rim deterrence

I'm fine with anyone at 16 as long as I can't find a clip of them doing the Ice In My Veins pose.

I haven't seen this one...Or have I? I remember the cringy "I'm eating" bit that guys like Harden and Ezekiel Elliot were doing. Actually it was the "Keep feeding me" thing. I didn't think anything could get any worse than that. Gonna have to look up the icewater vein pose.
*Edit* Just looked it up! Holy $hit that's stupid! Of course the first picture I get is of Lebron doing it. What a butt-plug that guy is. Always has been.

What can you guys tell me about Kyshawn George from Miami? Would really like a bigger guard who can shoot to play with Maxey. I see he's 18 on the tankathon mock?

I really don't care for him after he just gave up on the season. His last 10 or so games were pretty pathetic.

I mentioned my one hot take: Edey going in the top 10.
Another will be Justin Edwards going in the first, possibly lottery, possibly to us lmao. He got hot from three at times and he's 6'8 with a 6'10 wingspan. Solid steal percentage. Could get the UK underperforming bump in the draft. I'm not about it for us, but I can definitely see it happening.

Yea, I mean he does everything well. I don't really know what his HS career looked like and if he was an on ball type player, but I don't generally like guys who are strictly off ball their entire freshman year. I do like that he won over the starting position and his stats jumped pretty well. He kinda fell off in March, however.

Looking at McCain again: 6 games of 10 rebs or more. Pull him off the bench to give Maxey a breather. I think we'll be delightfully surprised at how helpful his board crashing is along with being an insane shooter. Could run very similar offense through him that we do with Maxey.

That one is painful to see. I'm sure many have done it, but I'll always associate it with James.

Honestly, I have been surprised to not see him mocked in the first half of the 1st round up to now, just because of the raw potential and his size. Definitely a project that could turn out to be a major steal if he lands in the right place.

Dillingham makes no sense with Maxey here, right? But when Allen Iverson himself thinks you could be the next Allen Iverson, it’s intriguing.
If we keep #16, are we going plug-and-play high floor guys or are we going for high bust-high ceiling potential guys?

If they think Filipowski will improve his 3-ball then he looks like a great fit at PF next to Embiid. He's got the pedigree (#4 RSCI in 2022), passes the eye test, and put up great numbers across the board. The shooting is the only thing missing per the numbers, although his form looks fine. He could be the best option at #16.
