I wouldn't mind trading 2027 Heat pick and 2027 Mavs pick to the Rockets for #3 and then get to pick at both 3 and 6. Even in a weak draft I will take #3 over two picks 4 years away that will likely be in the 20-30 range.

Then I would take Edey at #3 and the best shooter left on the board at #6 (either Knecth, Reed, or even Dillingham). Would set us up to have a lethal pick and roll with LaMelo and Edey and a bunch of shooters you can't afford to cheat off of in Brandon Miller, Grant Williams, Seth Curry, who ever we get at #6. Grant and Edey would also give us the most physical team in the league and we would dominate rebounding.

Then we could still bring back Miles if he is willing to come back on a team friendly deal.

The idea of a Dillingham/Edey pick and roll sounds fun enough for me to want us to grab both of them, and otherwise I am not really a Dillingham guy. I do think Dillingham will be successful in the league though, in a celtics Isaiah Thomas role pre injury. He will also be sort of like Quickley with a very good deep shot. I saw somebody comparing him to Tim Hardway (sr not jr). That dude was one of my favorite players not gonna lie. He had some swagger and was never afraid to let it fly.

I'm one of your few Edey supporters here, but taking him #3 is wild. If he goes top 7, then you really are a prophet.

in his defense, its to get 3 & 6, not just to move up.

i still dont like it and i honestly dont think Houston would do it either.

I was saying trade for an extra pick that would be #3 not to move up

I think his range is likely 3-12 and part of that is just that this is a draft where anything could happen. Blazers are a real possibility and they have 7 & 14. Memphis is a possibility at 9. Somebody moving up to 3 that really wants him is also a real possibility. His floor is probably Jazz or Thunder, but again anything could happen in this draft.

Likely 3-12... There have been zero reports of him going that high, so likely is just you are fantasizing...

The highest team he worked out for was Memphis at 9, then 10,13,14,15, 17, 19,21, 23...

Literally nothing about that says this dude is going inside the top 5.

Memphis needs a center in the worst way. They want to trade up for Clingan. Barring that success, they may swing wildly for Edey at 9.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He worked out for the Blazers who have 7. Some of those teams have been linked to reports of trading up to 3.

You can't trust reports this time of year. Teams are trying to disguise what they want to do. There will be surprises on draft night.

Yeah, and also nobody knows who we have worked out since we are keeping things top secret.

Are the leaks that have come out about us by design or mistake? Nobody knows.... draft night should be fun

Which would you rather have when all said and done.

Miles Bridges and #6?

or Brandon Ingram?

Jesus. Well if the second option includes a $53m per year deal then easily the first option.

I am not saying we would trade Bridges there, but more so if you get Ingram the chances the front office is also willing to pay Bridges is very low. So this would be assuming Pelicans accept #6 for Ingram.

Depends on how much Ingram wants on his next contract. If he wants the max then no thanks.

Bridges and #6

Yes, both want stupid money like every other player or 99% of the NBA in free agency.

Miles has stayed healthy. Ingram has not.

Ingram is the better player but his next contract could turn into a bad one.

I'd keep Bridges and demand Ingram + 21 for 6 + filler. Although I think that demand only has potency if Clingan is there for the Pelicans.
It has been written...
