DJ LeMathieu must be hurt again.

Or they want to send Ben Rice down to the minors so they get another year of contract control. Probably that, since the Yanks are so impoverished.

JD is one of those hot/cold players. He might do very well for you.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Guerrero was asked Monday night if he'd reconsider past comments with the Blue Jays languishing in last place in the American League East -- 16 games behind the Yankees -- and the trade deadline looming July 30.

"Sometimes one says things. It is not that I am trying to take back what I said about the Yankees," Guerrero told Virus Deportivo on Monday. "But this is a business. I sat down and spoke with my dad [Vladimir Guerrero Sr.] and my family, and this is a business. And I said I would never again talk about this topic and lots of people have asked me about it."

"Like I tell you, I'm a player and if a team picks me or if they do something, it's because they need it, obviously, and I'll be happy to help any team," Guerrero Jr. told Virus Deportivo on Monday. "But right now, I'm just focused on helping my team try to get out of this bad streak."

Serious question. Would you rather Juan Soto at whatever his astronomical salary will be or Pete Alonso for half the price?

I'm lost, what did we do to Vlad Sr. that makes Jr. hate us?

Is this a case of the Yankees doing something wrong? Like I know why Griffey Jr. hates us and I 100% agree with him, but I'm drawing a blank as to why Vlad Jr. feels like this.

In 2022, Guerrero Jr. said he'd "never sign with the Yankees -- not even dead." In 2023, he told the New York Post that it was "a personal thing that goes back with my family. ... I would never change that."

I think it's because George chose Sheffield over Vlad Sr.

Billy Martin's drunk ass kicked Ken Jr. out of the dugout, stating that The Old Man didn't want any kids on the field or whatever. At the same time, Graig Nettles' son was on the field playing catch and no one said a word to them.

Ken Sr. pointed that out to Ken Jr. as they were leaving.

I can only imagine how Jr. felt that day.

The moment that convinced Griffey Jr. he never wanted to play for New York, however, came when his dad was wearing pinstripes from 1982 to 1986.

"I came up to visit my dad. It was just me and him, got to go to [Yankee Stadium] early and I'm sitting in the dugout," the 50-year-old recalled. "A security guard comes over and says, 'Hey, George [Steinbrenner] doesn't want anybody in the dugout.

"My dad was like 'What? He's my son,'" The Kid explains, remembering how his father complied with the request, telling him to go to his locker in the clubhouse. As Junior left, however, his dad told him to "look at third base."

"It's Graig Nettles' son taking ground balls at third base," Griffey Jr. said.
