Troy Weaver is joining the Washington Wizards front office as a Senior Advisor. The move reunites Weaver with Michael Winger and Will Dawkins, with whom he previously worked with in the Oklahoma City Thunder's front office.
Weaver spent the last four seasons as the Detroit Pistons general manager. Pistons ownership gave Weaver the directive of resetting the franchise, both on the court and on their cap sheet. Several losing years followed, but Weaver did bring young talent into the organization, while cleaning up Detroit's salary sheet.
Weaver has been lauded for his role in scouting over the years, both with Detroit and Oklahoma City. The Wizards are in the early stages of a full-scale rebuild. Weaver will be welcomed as the team looks to add young talent in the coming seasons.
